I presume in 10 years time Christmas songs will still be popular. So it will still be the same old Christmas songs that we have now? At that stage AIWFCIY will be 34 years old. There are no real newer Christmas songs coming along that are really popular. You could say Santa Tell Me/One More Sleep, but the vast majority of people haven't heard of them now. And if they're not popular now I can't see them turning into big popular Christmas songs in the future?

One More Sleep has been getting bigger each year and by the end of this year it will have sold around 500,000 copies in total, its a proper hit.

This is it's chart run since release. The song is growing in popularity each year.

I like Candy Cane Lane, heard it a few times on ads this year so think it could be a future recurring track. Some of the slower songs are lovely too like Snowman and Snowflake!

Candy Cane Lane has become my favourite Christmas song this time around, loving it right now! Bought mum her Christmas album to get her into the festive spirit.

Both traah, screwchy SCFU is flopping as no one likes it.

Leona Lewis and Coldplay have the two new classics actually, and both are high quality, not dirge.

It's not really flopping though as it's competing to become a top 40 hit this week for a second year in a row!

I don't see the rationale for your opinion here to be honest. You are basically saying that AIWFCIY is the last big Xmas hit when there have been plenty following this including seasonal hits like Spice Girls etc. There's also contrary evidence from this weeks chart itself to falsify your view with One More Sleep, Christmas Lights, Santa Tell Me and Underneath The Tree all in the Spotify top 30!?

One More Sleep to eventually outsell Bleeding ‘Eck??

Lol I would love that, anything for her to no longer be known as "oh that Bleeding Love woman" :puke2: if I hear that line one more time..

One More Sleep to eventually outsell Bleeding ‘Eck??

Could do in a few years, Likely to become Platinum next year which in itself is an achievement for Leona with a new original Christmas song.

I usually like Sia, but when I heard her vocals on Santa's Coming for Us, I actually burst out laughing. No Sia, just...no.

Omg ... THIS!! I cringed and covered me ears. HORRENDOUS.

Santa's Coming for Us is brilliant, up there with Santa Tell Me as the "future Xmas classics"

Hopefully! Hope it can make the top 40 this week for a second year!

Brenda Lee also reached a new peak yesterday at #5

Not a new peak actually! It's just rising up the chart with a different listing on kworb this year. She got to #5 for 2 days last year.

As it's on SCR and the Sia fan bois are tryna keep it afloat, but honestly it's like a rat pushing a turd back against the tide of a flushin toilet!

if something is doing better or worst in Spotify is determined by how high is on the Xmas playlists

Santa Tell Me is not more popular this year, it's just higher on all Xmas playlists

if a given Xmas song is not doing well, it's not cos people don't like it, it's cos it's not being playlisted

people are very sheep-is in general when it comes to Spotify, but when it comes to Xmas tracks, I think users rely 100% on playlists

Could you imagine if Leona was higher on the Christmas playlists? I believe shes at 19 on Christmas pop, 23 on Christmas crackers, and only 86 on Christmas hits which is the biggest of the playlists.

You'd think they would have her higher seeing how well shes been performing the last few years.

Kylie’s Santa Baby is doing so well on Spotify thanks to the playlists, does it usually perform like this?
One more sleep is a pretty good achievement for leona but i feel it would still be doing this well with any female artist that has been relatively big

That could be said for the vast majority of hits so I don’t see where you are going with this point.

Back to the topic, One More Sleep is not likely to overtake Bleeding Love anytime soon as Bleeding Love still does really well on streaming globally. It could/should overtake A Moment Like This and Run a few years down the line if it is a consistent annual seller.

Hoping Sia can get another week top 40. Can’t see it doing so well when it eventually gets hit by the 3 year ACR rule.

A great choice of purchase ;)
