Have changed my mind. For me 'These Days' is the worst #1 of the year. The whole overbearing seriousness of the track, the blandness and the fact it was overplayed are to blame.

'Shotgun' and 'Thank U Next' are both overrated I think (although I certainly prefer 'thank u next' to 'Shotgun' with its cheesy brass production and its embarrassing imo lyrics about 'bikini bottoms and lager tops'). The Ladbaby song is annoying, Shallow, Perfect and I'll Be There are rather boring. So not a great year for #1s I think.

Although I liked Promises, I even got bored of that eventually (it could have done with some more variation in its instrumental I think), One Kiss and Funky Friday and its bassline hip hop were good enough though.

I don't mind the Drake songs, I liked the production in 'In My Feelings' with the female rapper and 'Nice For What' made good use of the sample and I like the fact that it was energetic for a Drake song.

So a boring dance pop (These Days, I'll Be There) is always better than super catchy hip hop (Nice for What), this is Buzzjack doing its best :D

Nice For What is a complete racket to my ears so yes, I'll take boring pop over it (though I'd rather neither)

I’m just surprised Drake managed to have 3 no.1s without me noticing.

Lucky you
