I'd assume they use a formula based on weekly patterns over the last year or something

For what I see, Thu streams are pretty similar to Wed streams, just a little bit lower

so it wouldn't surprise me if the estimation of Thu streams is just x% of Wed streams

That's all well and good but how do you estimate the streams for a song which has only become available on a Thursday?

You don't. Any song that gets released on a Thursday like the Westlife one today will have zero streams counted for the week.

I can’t remember where Baby entered but it must be getting close to a new peak (finally).

Still not sure it’s ever going to quite reach the Top 10.

Official Chart Top 10, that is.

Electric by Lisa Scott-Lee is on Throwback Thursday, omg

I love the person that compiles these, there are some very 'online pop fan type' choices that appear sometimes.

#50 is the Spotify peak so this is the closest it’s been to matching that. If it were moved up 5/6 places on hot hits it has a chance at cracking the top 50 again, and then rising and making gains ... but I doubt they will so I think the song has peaked now.

Electric has 132,319 streams in total at the moment, the most of any of her songs. Will have to check back tomorrow to see how many streams it actually gets from the playlist.

I love the thought of loads of people shuffling this playlist today. Some brilliantly obscure choices/forgotten hits from LSL, Mel B, Shaznay, Mark Owen, Abs and Gary Barlow (albeit with his best solo single by far).

Thanks. A shame if so! The Hot Hits curators are king.

Omg Omarion - Ice Box is on Throwback Thursday  WHAT A SONG!!
Brian McFadden's Real To Me has also be reintroduced into my life... loved this song!

Loved this too! Great production from Timbaland.

"High Hopes" back in the TOP 20, such a smash, hopefully it can return to TOP 40. It was #42 last week.
Catfish And The Bottlemen's first album refused to leave the chart for years so it seemed like they were overdue a song doing decently well on streaming (a la Arctic Monkeys) - can't say I've found any of their previous material particularly interesting so hopefully I'll like this new one a bit more ~
Great climb for Catfish, didn't believe they would go this high, HHs on Friday please!

New Music Friday - I assume Calvin will be added when it's out:

1. Lana Del Rey - hope is a dangerous thing...

2. Billie Ellish - When I Was Older

3. Catfish and the Bottlemen - Longshot

4. SOAK - Knock Me Off My Feet

5. Tom Walker - Just You and I

6. Rudumental ft. RAY BLK & Stefflon Don - Scared of Love

7. Lauren Lauregui - More Than That

8. Westlife - Hello My Life

9. Joe Goddard - Jack Come Back

10. Example - All Night

Another new Rudimental song? How many have they released now since they last had an actual hit? Lol ~
