Feels like metal is getting more and more popular - loads of metal bands having their highest charting albums ever recently.

I've seen a few young people recently wearing Sabaton shirts and hoodies, they definitely seem to be one of the more popular ones with younger fans.

That’ll be Ed Sheeran going straight back to number one

You may be right but I think that's also due to album sales being really low and metal fans being more likely to buy albums than fans of certain other genres.

Would Lana not be a bigger physical seller!?

Would Lana not be a bigger physical seller!?

Idk acts like TOOL usually do well on physicals too. I’ll admit I had no clue who they were until a few weeks back. I think the have a small but dedicated hardcore fanbase here in the UK.

Lana will do better throughout the week I think she has more casual support and she’ll have better streaming too.

But I think TOOL will be ahead slightly in the midweeks.

TOOL's biggest strength would be in physical sales! But as someone pointed out elsewhere the CD version is apparently £80 which is not going to help them.
Don't know much about TOOL either until they were discussed in here, seem to be big in the US so that usually translates over here. As you say thoigh they are a niche act so will have decent fanbase sales.

She will be. Tool have only one physical version which is already sold out everywhere. No sign of regular CD neither vinyl. I don't know their lead on iTunes but it must be big as they beat Lana Taylor and Ed.

TOOL have big, loyal fan base. Not surprised by their performance.
As much as I'd love Lana to get it (the album is sensational), I can't see her doing over 25k, and I'd say Tool would be pushing over 30k.
