Indeed Lewis, I decided there was nothing to lose sending it here after the slight disappointment of the Club Bizarre veto, and it also maintains Buzzjack Mountain's reputation for good quirky entries :D . It's a pity Rolloland isn't in this semi though! :(

Opening a semi! Well that confirms this semi peaks early ;o I hope my link's working for people, it's the first one I made and uploaded to Youtube myself *.* the original is 8 minutes, but I wanted to avoid the long song wrath for once. I rlly don't want this to DNQ, it's so beautiful, from a glance it seems like the other semi might have been better, but let's not get paranoid this early on eh :x

Only one song in this semi-final that I'd heard prior to the contest ('Moonwalking' as it was in PJSC last month alongside Vulfpeck, both good choices to bring over here) so this will also be a very fresh listen, hooray ~

 

Some very interesting sounding entries in here that I'm already feeling like I'll not like being unable to vote for! Long song haters who've avoided this semi might be pleased as they've avoided the two 9 minute songs for now. x

 

Shoutout to Holland-Oats for ensuring straight away that 2019 is not deprived of adding to the count of BJSC entries called 'Ghost' :D this is our 12th to date (plus 5 called 'Ghosts').

So for those of you who were wondering, this is the musical theatre option of my two "empowering black women" tracks (sorry Burbe, dancehall is on the list for next month though!). It's taken from "SIX: The Musical" which is a Hamilton-style re-imagining of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII of which my song is Anne of Cleeves' track. It can also be enjoyed with this song as the prelude:

I don't even think that is the right version :( I looked on there recently and couldn't find it.

 

It doesn't matter anyway, in a way it is good to have both versions on offer, and I like both of them, although I prefer the more energetic single version in the YouTube link, which was the version officially promoted as a single I think.

Another fun fact: Taahino and Flynnonda have recycled each other's artists in this contest ;o King No-One a former Flynnonda act while kwassa represented Taahino before under his old name of KYKO (very glad he changed the name as that was always rather dodgy sounding).
