November 5, 200619 yr Author 13 Depeche Mode - Martyr http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/LCDBONG39.JPG Taken from the eagerly awaited 'Best Of' collection, 'Martyr' is a powerful, hypnotic track written by Martin Gore which deftly confirms the band's iconic status. Produced by Ben Hillier, of Doves and Blur fame, the new single is unrelenting, absolute Depeche Mode and sits immaculately amongst their luminous history. Surging with incandescent synths, a razor-sharp hook and Dave Gahan's emotive claims of being "a martyr for love", it is both irresistible and irrepressible. - HMV Video here: [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b66MFwKzXWI.swf track listing 1. November 5, 200619 yr I can't understand why Depeche Mode chart so high these days... who's buying their stuff? Fanbase. And they deserve it I think.
November 5, 200619 yr Fanbase. And they deserve it I think. I don't mind Depeche Mode, just... they sort of re-appeared out of nowhere and they've surprised me because they've had a good few top 20s in a row
November 5, 200619 yr I don't mind Depeche Mode, just... they sort of re-appeared out of nowhere and they've surprised me because they've had a good few top 20s in a row I really loved all 4 singles from the last album, but never got the album strangely enough. I own one of their GHs though and it's fantastic. :yahoo:
November 5, 200619 yr Not bad for them, considering their chart history, deserves to be top 10 though
November 5, 200619 yr This is their 9th consecutive top 20 hit in a row after Useless made no.29 in November 1997 :o
November 5, 200619 yr I hadn't heard this up until now, I have to admit it's not up to their usual standard. :(
November 5, 200619 yr 18 (from 72) Jamiroquai - Runaway http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697016002.JPG Video Here: [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnuZz8We7o0.swf track listing 1. Runaway [Album Version] 2. Runaway [Tom Belton Remix] 3. Runaway [Grant Nelson Remix] 4. Runaway [Alan Braxe & Fred Falke Remix] Discussion Thread Here I thought the video with Mr. Kay dressed up as an astronaut around London was very funny also one silly question to ask. Which dance number was more intresting to see Jamiroquai in "Virtutal Insanity" or Napoloeon Dynamite dancing to "Canned Heat" in his film a few years back.
November 5, 200619 yr They've had 14 top ten singles since 1981.. but the highest they've charted is no.4... on 3 occassions, most recently with 'Precious' last October
