The one show just confirmed Emma is releasing a single. Stating she is 'vying for a Christmas number 1'.

If it goes top 200 I will be gobsmacked. She couldn't manage it with BPDS in a quieter time of the year, she hasn't got a chance. Looking forwards to hearing the song though, hopefully an original track. :wub:

Though a Christmas single is not a bad idea success wise, if it is half decent and gets put on a few Christmas playlists, it can accumulate great streaming and sales without ever really bothering the charts.

 

Kylie's Santa baby is one of her best selling songs for a long time now and it was originally a b-side I think but has become a Christmas playlist staple now.

This. It is crealy a marketing strategy and she will get on a few playlists and get streams without doing much every year! Plus, the song will go on compilations and get played every Christmas. An easy cash in...

Hopefully it is an original song, I think she would do much better with an original Christmas song than a cover because she isn't really a big enough name to bump the original off playlists, downloads or to get airplay over the original version.

Maybe Louise, Emma and Heidi Range can start a girl group and do a completely harmless and pleasantly bland Christmas original.

Emma is miles ahead in both tallent and artistic vision than Louise or Heidi :arrr:

The album is £5 on Amazon, they have the deluxe and signed copies too. Should be able to squeeze some more sales out of it this next 5 weeks.

The One show starts in just under an hour and a half.

Christmas single, looks like it’s called coming home for Christmas. Also will Young and Jade confirmed as ‘friends’ performing.

The album is 1 year old today :o My goodness, that year went fast! A little video from Emma to mark the anniversary:

The good news is Emma is still very much acknowledging the album and giving it social media promo whenever she can. Which is a good sign she is still into her solo career and intends to keep it going.

 

After LIM she pretty much ignored her solo music until My happy place, since My happy place she has been celebrating anniversaries and pushing her old material too. I like that it makes her feel more like an artist less like My happy place and her soli music career was a side project.

 

I'm confident we will get album number 5.
