I saw an advert for the album whilst watching Jamie Oliver on Channel 4 just now and had a bit of a moment like 'This has actually happened'. I'm not even fussed too much how well the album does now it's out there. The fact we've even got a new album from her now when it didn't seem possible a few years ago is a gift in and of itself. (Also I'm so tempted to splurge and get the gatefold vinyl now it's back in stock)

I'm glad that they seem to recognize Don't Call Me Baby enough to have her perform it. I hope we at least get a remix package out of it.

Emma acknowledged in her live chat how well Don't Call Me Baby has gone down with fans (about 11 minutes into the video), although a little earlier in the video (10 minute mark~) she didn't think it'd likely be a single.

Honestly, if we get a remix package of it I'd be happy to be honest. It's a shame they haven't considered it as a single as I think it's the only one of the lot that could make any sort of impact, but on the other hand I doubt they've planned for a lot of singles from this album especially if it doesn't hold up well. They might as well end it after the Jade duet is released.

Listened to the album quite a bit now, decided I really like it! Her voice is delicious :wub: Even YAINTGB has grown on me... I do wish there was some way to cut out the talking bits though :lol:

 

Ironically 2 become 1 is my least favourite track on the album, Baby please don't stop is my favourite song and I wish I could have loved you more is my favourite cover. I adore the Will Young duet too, so simple but beautiful :wub:

Too Many Teardrops is my favourite still, followed by I Wish I Could Have Loved You More and Baby Please Don't Stop. Don't Call Me Baby is also amazing and could be a really good song with a nice remix.

 

Unfortunately, Come Away With Me and 2 Become 1 are just pointless.

I quite like Come Away With Me it's very chilled and sounds lovely. I agree about 2 become 1 though :lol:

I really like Too Many Teardrops and Baby Please Don't Stop.

I think Wish I could have loved you more, Don't Call me baby and I only wanna be with you are actually pretty decent covers too. Also don't mind the 2 Become 1 remake for its notstaglia and also I surprisingly don't mind Robbies voice.

 

Here comes the sun is OK but would be improved without the kids singing, the other 3 Come away with me, you're all I need and particularly Emotion are under average or bad imo and seemed rushed or very cheesy.

 

Overall about 5 of the songs I'd possibly listen to and 5 I'd very rarely go back to. Still I hope it does well. Debating whether to buy it just to support and I hope she does some more original stuff in the future if she does anything else.

So we have at least two unreleased songs from this project, assuming that either of these reached a stage of completion before being rejected?

 

There’s certainly a range of musical styles on there. Were there any songs you recorded that you realised just didn’t suit your voice?

“Yes. We tried a Shirley Bassey song which just didn’t work, and When You Wish Upon A Star, which is one of my all-time favourites. It just wasn’t right.”

Funny she doesn't mention which Shirley song, but it's easy to assume that she did one of the Bond things?

 

I think Kiss Me, Honey Honey, Kiss Me might've suited her though.
