Quite surprised by that Twitter support from Spotify, considering that they didn't even include the song in New Music Friday :(

It was probably their way of saying 'we supported it' and get over it lol

The amount of streamings is BAD (48,000) since Wednesday. That's really f*** all lol

I am a it sad about the lack of impact of the song. It seemed to have a little bit of momentum on Wednesday and that was IT.

It seems to me that this was only a warm up single, and I hope that they will indeed release a new one with a much better video (please...) and promotion. It got good coverage, but she needs to be doing way more interviews and performances for the album to ever have a chance.

In the grand scheme 48k is bad, but by her own standards it is pretty decent. Free Me the song has 180k after all these years.

Hum? A single by Emma Bunton was never going to garner massive initial support - we've still yet to see if Radio 2 / Heart will playlist it too and there's still stuff like Loose Women (which I count on her being on) for her to promote it. It's not 1999 and there's still interest in Spice Girls solo music.

So frustrating, Emma's tweeted about the single and even posted a new vertical music video, but she never links any of her tweets to Spotify/iTunes for her single so you can stream or download.

The only link she's posting is the album pre order

Because they know from previous releases from Melanie C, Geri, Melanie B and even herself that she has virtually no chance of charting in the top 100 with the single... the last one to chart in the top 100 was Loving Me (#14 in 2013) and Think about it (#95 in 2011)... however the album had a good chance of charting in the top 20/10 so they want to get all the pre-orders in for the album...

But you cant just throw your single under the bus. The better way to get album sales is to grow the single.

The album will be top 10, everyone gets a top 10 album these days its not even that much of an achievement. However having a well liked single that gets streams is the way to avoid a 8-93-167-out album chart run.

Unless she tries to get a song that gains some traction this will be another Claire Richards or Gabrielle, top 10 album, campaign over after 1 month as the album is dead with no song even getting small amounts of streams and sales to get anyone new interested in the album that isn't a hardcore fan.

That is what will happen anyway... :yahoo:

Baby Please Don't Stop has finally broken the 100k streams on Spotify, now at 106,069

Finally...

Deserves so much more :( But without some significant play listing it's pretty impossible.
I hope it's just that they're biding their time until it's a bit closer to the album being out

It was played yesterday and again today, so I don't doubt it'll be playlisted. They wouldn't have played it at all if they planned to shun it.

The vertical video is now on her channel youtube:
