So, why hasn’t Dean Lewis had much impact since the release of his new album? I thought some of his tracks would be in the top 100, I must admit.

Because he's a one hit wonder

A lot of the bigger pop acts don't dent the Top 100 with their album tracks so for someone who had one song which peaked at #11 to not isn't exactly surprising.

Plus the album itself is actually bombing.

I think Dean Lewis will do well in the future. I can’t see him being a one hit wonder tbh.

I imagine the album is doing well in Australia.

 

He's not a big name over here, people didn't listen to the song because of 'him'.

The album track ‘Stay Awake’ is doing well on iTunes for some reason?

I think of him basically in the same ilk as Jamie Lawson.

Passenger is from the UK, big difference for the UK chart.

cannot see the difference, Hozier's 1st album sold very well and he's Irish

same back in the day with Damien Rice, he sold > 1 million copies with no hit single and he's Irish too

 

don't think that nationality matters for singer-songwriters

Take Me to Church was also much bigger than Be Alright.

 

Plus Hozier might be from Ireland, but it's right next to the UK, which meant he could do promo other here.

if something, I've always felt the opposite, that the UK audiences never support UK singer/songwriters

you are listing pop stars, I think my concept of singer-songwriter is different from yours :)

Ed Sheeran's whole 'thing' is that he's a singer-songwriter.

 

Not sure how someone Lewis Capaldi is different to Hozier.
