When she was midweek #5 yesterday, she was 987 copies behind #4 - Fontaines DC

Today at midweek #7 with 5,335 copies sold, she's:

342 copies behind #4 - Tom Walker

331 copies behind #5 - Fontaines DC

284 copies behind #6 - The Greatest Showman

64 copies ahead of #8 - Marty Wilde

850 copies ahead of #9 - Queen

1539 copies ahead of #10 - George Ezra

1991 copies ahead of #11 - Khalid

It's evidently very tight at the moment in the 4-8 region. I expect Tom Walker & The Greatest Showman to stay ahead of her, it's looking like Marty Wilde will overtake later in the week and I assume Queen will as well. However, signs point to Emma being able to outdo Fontaines DC by Friday... fingers crossed. Not sure about George Ezra & Khalid.

Hopefully she'll be able to retain a Top 10 position. I think she'd need to get to 6,500 sales for the week to comfortably achieve it.

I think it'd be hard for her to slip all the way to #11 to be honest, especially since the weekend sales have already been accounted for. Usually there would a surge in album sales around Friday/Saturday, which is when frontloaded albums tended to really slip behind. She had This Morning today, so that should've helped.

Shame she is already slipping. Here's hoping that the video will come out asap to hopefully put a bit more momentum over the next couple of days. Weds and Thurs will be really crucial for her.

A shame she thought to release so close to the start of rehearsals, as it really deminishes her chances of further promo. Oh well... TBH I am a bit over the alvbum already. I bought every available format once, to support her. But the album is not a great album, nor very well thought out either, so whatever...

I feel she could have really done better with a better album. If she had really put effort into it and made an album of good quality originals, the public and press could have gotten more behind it. The focus on covers killed the album, I think, before it even had the chance to breathe.

She got good press. She just needs a better album.

Tbf she did a good amount of promo. We can’t deny that.

Her promo has been really good tbh I mean Jonathan Ross is a huge gig you can't get much bigger than that... Well a performance slot would have been good (or Graham Norton lol).

After reading that I think she should manage to hold onto the top 10, #8 is looking likely (which I believe was my prediction whoop whoop!)

She did do great promo! A few more TV performances would have been great, but whatever. I still think with a better album, she would have made better numbers/more interest in her work.

Let's hope for a #8 at the least  Regardless of everything, it is still bound to be quite a great achievement for her. Lets just hope it doesnt sink in for ever after this week (which will probably do lol)

Someone mentioned in another thread that the Fontaine’s have a signing today.

The 12000 people that bought LIM have moved on I guess.

Can you imagine where it would be without the bundles and signed album ?

Those sales are very close and i can see the album making a number 11 debut on Friday.

That's the big mistake on Emma's part, she should have done a signing. I didn't buy a signed copy but I would have gone to a signing and bought one there, as would many fans who already bought the signed version hence more sales for her. I'm guessing she can't fit that in due to rehearsals starting... The album should probably have been released last week.

I feel like she could have got top 5 but will be ultimately number 8. What has let it down is a bit of greediness tbh. The Vinyl is too expensive and should be stocked in HMV and on Amazon but by not stocking it anywhere else people are held to randsome paying over the odds for it. The CDs are too expensive too, a cardboard digipack 10 track album should be 8.99 and the deluxe 11.99.

Given she is less than 350 behind number 4 these couple of things might have made the difference. Still she will be comfortably top 10.

I'm not sure 1.5k+ difference is that close this time of the year to be honest.

Emma sold ~1.1k yesterday, so despite being overtaken by two albums it's not a complete fall off a cliff saleswise either.

ETA: Claire Richards sold 4.9k through Friday-Sunday in her first midweeks and she ended up with 6.1k sales. Emma basically cleared on Monday what Claire ended up doing from Monday-Thursday, so hopefully this indicates a slightly more public interest in Emma's release.

Definitely agree that the vinyl is very overpriced. Once you factor in the postage, it costs £30. A 10-track album on one vinyl disc shouldn't exceeded £20! I'm sure there's many fans who wouldn't have felt able to justify buying it. It's certainly a shame it wasn't available in HMV & Amazon.

I think another mistake was a Deluxe CD that is the same 10 tracks. Most people wouldn't feel compelled to buy a more expensive version of the same album just because it has different packaging!

Like Sammy says, cheaper prices really could have made all the difference considering how close it is at this stage in the mids. I kind of wish BMG would consider temporarily slashing the prices prior to Friday so she can pick up some more casual sales.

Also agree that it's a shame a record signing wasn't organised.

It was badly timed for her album to coincide with Spice Girls rehearsals starting. :(

The Monday mids had Amazon data from Sunday missing, so it seems that the 1.1k is a combination of sales that were added belatedly, as well as whatever it sold on Monday. I assume the sales achieved tomorrow will be far less, maybe below 500?

Well, that's unfortunate, but it makes sense as 1.1k seemed abnormally high considering the frontloaded nature of these type of releases.

It's not going to lose a 2k gap on #11. If anything it has had a very strong sales day today, her This morning and BBC London news interviews have seen the album rise back up to #12 on iTunes and #28 and #39 on Amazon for the signed and unsigned versions.

I just cant see it slipping below number 8, as it will surely pass Fontaines.

I agree about them being a bit greedy I was very very very tempted with the vinyl however I will not pay £30 for it. I'm past the stage of my life where I am prepared to spend loads of money on the girls anymore I have a mortgage, new house, decorating, holidays, car etc etc etc to think about which take priority. So she lost out on a sale there from me. Would also have been tempted with the cassettes had I got the vinyl, so actually 3 sales missed out on.
The lack of live performance in the shows where she is invited this week doesn't help. There was just a live performance on TV last month

I'm the same, I love vinyl collect them but I'm not spending 30 quid on a 1 disc vinyl.

Also I'm sure Kylie's cassettes were £5, they really have tried to penny pinch those extra pounds wherever they can.

The vinyl is pink and come with an amazing booklet , this is why it was a bit more pricey !
There isn’t a booklet in this vinyl. Unless you’re referring to the vinyl being a gatefold, or the sleeve containing the vinyl having pictures/text printed on it? Both of these features are pretty standard for vinyl releases these days, I wouldn’t say this justifies the price.
