March 31, 20196 yr Many have said this is a better song than hello my love though. The only twist that I can hear from the single was Kian and Nicky's parts. Shane the lead vocalist of the band for many didn't shine in the song because of the inclusion of Kian and Nicky imo. Well Kian and Nicky from now on will not allow themselves to not have a line on every main release that they will have I believe because all of them had solo albums already and there is no Simon to reject it. I wonder what happened to that Anywhere track.

Anywhere might still be around but we don’t know for sure now.
March 31, 20196 yr Wonder what was the first week sales of Us against the world? You know? Maybe charis This is their first second single since that song in 2008.
March 31, 20196 yr Yes the people focused on Marks vocals and Kian and Nicky this time. Idk Kian and Nicky's recorded vocals lacked finesse for me for a ballad that's why Steve and Simon doesn't trust them that much in the early days of the band.
March 31, 20196 yr "I'm a guy in my mid 40's,I didn't buy any of their albums but they had a lot of good songs,a lot of blokes probably wouldn't like to admit that though." It's a comment from one guy in a web page of a big tabloid newspaper. The amount of Stupidity is just off the charts. It's like talking about devils of this world. Many people keep saying that they are really love this song but kept it secret and trying hard to be not vocal about it because their friends would probably mock them. One user here said don't push for classic ballads and in next comment can't help but to confess this song is better than HML. My problem with some members here (as they have same problem with me) is releasing songs just for the love of non-fans. Sorry but they don't like Westlife, kill yourself, release masterpiece and they don't change their opinions. Westlife were around for more than 14 years and they had more than enough time to get the attention of others but they weren't successful because many people fears of mockery! They released great album in Where We Are and the reaction was same. I think many of you here wanting to please others and my advice for you? don't waste your time because it is not worth it. Better Man is way better than Hello My Love which was desperate attempt to gain more attention. It is still working but mark my word, it will be forget as soon as next crap hip-hop or dance track become available. If you want to know why Better Man can't maintain it's position in itunes chart or Amazon or whatever charts out there it is because one simple thing: PROMOTION. You saw one performance in JR resulted in better chart position but you should continue it with two or three more appearances. Releasing single after single just for sake of it is like committing suicide. It just take your time to shoot video and stuff and I'm sure many people don't know they released a single this week. They are not fans, so where should they get the news? JR helps but it is NOT ENOUGH. It drive me insane that their label doesn't push for two or three more promotions for them in other shows. They were there before reuniting but all promotions for new album limited to one stop in one talk show. It won't help and that's the real reason for failure of any release. For last words I want to say take your decision: remains Westlife fan or spread negativity. The results of propaganda showed it in case of 1D: they released many ballads and all of them were successful but when you have no propaganda the result is here to see. So in this case you don't need streaming, you don't need anything. I don't know why all Westlife's concerts in UK became sold-out. I'm sure Westlife have more than like 60+k devoted fans in England. All they need to do is buying one copy of the single in whatever format and then even streaming could not stop them. So you expect unconditional love and not temporary one. It is a should/have to case if you're big fan but when your devoted fans stop buying your single you can not call them die-hard. So why those concerts sold-out within minutes? it's something wrong here or I can't understand. Those fans are devoted enough to buy their singles. At least 60k of them is enough to make any of Westlife's single no.1. So it seems many of their fans just streaming and not buying their singles. That's it for now and once again: Better Man is way better than Hello My Love which was just made for one quick listening and that's it. You can be music lover and listen to Green Day's song called Boulevard of Broken Dreams and keep listening to it and then back to mellow pop in Better Man and still loves it despite sheer difference in two genres but the messages of both songs are tangible or you can create playlist after playlist for another electronic, hip-hop or whatever crap that makes top 40 and also Billboard hot 100 the most annoying charts in music, the choose is yours but by no means Better Man and classic westlife ballads are failure regardless of their chart positions. March 31, 20196 yr It's streamin which killed the fanbase of any artist... Now in order to get at the top, you have to be played everywhere, in every ipod of the country. Not to mention the fact that you have to be put in certain playlists... Westlife were never about this, they were never the most lovable act out there, you either love them or hate them and that's what made them successful, that their fans loved them beyond music.... For westlife its not possible to get a hit because to get one you need to be climbing in spotify for 1 month till you reach there, thats not the way a fanbase works.... Big shame to the UK charts, they have the same Top 2 for like 1.5 months now, and they push another piece of s...t for the next #1 to stay there another 1-2 months... This is stupid.. ^_^ Big shame also for the artists to ask for their fans to stream their music.... A fanbase cannot make a difference by streaming so it's a nonsense move... you love them you buy... You like a song you stream it..
March 31, 20196 yr Author When you think about TV promo, I am not even sure they have many options. You have Graham Norton they have been on, Jonathan Ross, I guess there are Lorraine and Loose Women but I don’t think those help that much anyway. In Ireland they already did D’Arcy and I suppose all that is left is Late Late Show.
April 1, 20196 yr Do you really think that ALL tv/radio shows are having Westlife as guest EVERY TIME they have a new song out? It doesn't work like that. Edited April 1, 20196 yr by SKOB
April 1, 20196 yr I've really fallen for this. Gahhh. 2 for 2 for me! It's OK, Jonjo, I'm newly converted too. Let's just embrace it  Actually though I did go on a bit of binge of their stuff on Spotify on Friday and 'If I Let You Go' is a complete bop. Likewise 'Fool Again'. Funny how you appreciate or like things more with age and maturity! Anyway, back on topic - 'Better Man' is #12 in first midweek today, so good start overall!
April 1, 20196 yr I don't mean every show. I said at least another two promotions would not their hurt Universal. Remember those days when those stupid propaganda machines had 1D week for their albums and in case of singles every move of them covered in annoying way. I told myself please stop it, I don't want to know how many times Zayn gets out of his house just to bold his name or what is Harry into. They created the greatest propaganda machine for 1D, never seen before and will never ever. They released ballads, some as Westlife but they were called "best group ever" which is downright insult to The Beatles, Pink Floyd and all those great rock bands. Many, many times I read they're better than Beatles in very serious UK newspapers which is shame. Comparing them to 90's bands is shameful as well. For me the order is this: BSB, Westlife and then Take That. BSB were always 5-10 years ahead of their time and remember that they introduced pop/rock tunes after reuniting 14 years ago. Anyway when devoted fans don't doing what fans supposed to do which is buying Westlife's singles I constantly asking myself who bought those tickets for their concerts in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, Birmingham, Liverpool and Nottingham? I can't call themselves devoted fans with unconditional love. Louis Capaldi sold 22k with streams and whatever and I think the no.1 this week will be in the region of 65-70k. So if half of all those UK fans bought Westlife's physical or digital version of Better Man and without even 1 stream it would be no.1. This hurts me. Of course some will say they will buy albums but if you're as devoted to going to their concerts you know in advance that Westlife have 14 UK no.1 and needs their fans and they're not there. So solve this problem for me if you can. I think all of you get my point.
April 1, 20196 yr I didn't get your point. Not all songs can sell the same amount, not everyone is ever gonna buy or stream all tracks from an artist. Some will but not everyone. If Westlife fail to reach their potential with this single, they can very well do it with next, or the album which is gonna sell well anyway. I'm a huge Lady Gaga fan but can very well understand why G.U.Y. (her biggest flop single) didn't do better at the time, but she has recovered since, several times in fact.
April 2, 20196 yr @1112676008904278017 They said it befoŕ that Shane is the make up artist of the group. The video trended in youtube Singapore Philippines Vietnam Indonesia etc
April 2, 20196 yr The one singing lead with the beard looks mad old. lol Cute song! I've never been that familiar with them. I remember hearing of them back in the day though.
April 2, 20196 yr Anyone knows if we stand a chance of a Top 20 this week? Jay maybe knows the numbers and can predict... let's give it a push! :)

One Direction were never called the best band ever except by their teen fans... nobody with any sense actually thinks that they have contributed more to the music scene than the likes of The Beatles, Queen, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac etc you know bands who released far more over 10-20-30+ years and who actually wrote their own music and had control of their own careers... Also you clearly weren’t alive during Spice mania their media presence was 10times bigger than One Directions was. I wasn’t alive during Beatle mania but from what I’ve seen they vastly outdid any media presence / propaganda than One Direction achieved...
