They won't cancel the album release this year because they need a UK number one album this decade

The album has been announced! Spectrum will be released in September. The early preorder is great news.

Imagine if someone in marketing was clever enough to think of a way of people pre ordering the album at their concerts to be delivered. They should have machines set up where you can add your address and pay there. Would get the no1 without even selling a copy on the release week.

its OCC call to change this stupid rules.

Why would Westlife album be cancelled. They sold half million tickets for the tour already and Hello My Love is becoming silver soon.

I think he means the Louise album

Why? is it a big achievement to have no.1 albums in 2 different decades?

Yes it will be a rare feat esp for a pop and Irish band

I don’t think I would be a fan if Westlife goes country, they should stick to pop, maybe venture to a bit of RnB but thats it.

#metoo I think they are going more after the likes of a Bee Gees comeback route with upbeat hits like Night Fever, Staying Alive and You Win Again

That's why this year and decade as well I want them to be in a major film main theme soundtrack. Can Universal make that happen?

ANyone can do this if they had a #1 album in 2009 and one in 2010, so...

unfortunately their debut album under-performed in charts and stopped at #2, otherwise we would be talking for 4 decades now....

Like who?

Looks like they are being haunted by it up to this day. Just look at their album title this year, similar to Steptacular

It was their most successful album in Indonesia and Philippines though and it reached #1 in Scotland in 2001 more than a year after its premiere

Let's just have to wait and see, the album may or may not be their biggest sales wise but it will just be the start and I think they are aiming more of having a breakthrough on streaming. After the album release in September, they might release another single from it or new singles that are not part of the comeback album and will go on to 2020 to be included in the new album just like their peaks in 1999 and 2000. So many possibilities. This is the first time they will release an album in September in UK. They only had singles Against All Odds Unbreakable and Hey Whatever before. In my observation they patterning it to the month and week of the release of the major debut album release of Ed Sheeran's plus. Like the release of Hello My Love in January, patterned to the release of Castle on the hill and Shape of you in January 2017.

You've all misread his post lol. He meant that at least Westlife, unlike Louise, don't run the risk of cancelling their album. :P (Westlife's album will go ahead whether they get hits or not - Louise might be different)
Ikr the cancellation will not happen. I've seen fans being pissed because the album will be released after the tour or they do have to wait too long. we are not used to so many single releases anymore lol

Even that wasn't really my point either - I don't think Louise's is in any real danger either unless it does terribly on pre-orders. My point was more that they're using both Westlife and Louise's album launches to experiment how to handle single rollouts with older / legacy type of acts that don't get much streaming and it really doesn't matter that much if the songs end up charting well, even if it is a bonus. :P
