Anyone watched any of this?? It's honestly so so good, of two winners they've had one trans and one plus size, progressive goals and the standard of looks is INSANE, like one of them literally set herself alight as a reveal while on the US version Vanjie is wearing a bodysuit each week x

Season 2 is honestly up there with the best golden era of Drag Race US (series 3-6) for me, so so good and everyone should watch.

I'm in the middle of season 2 myself (having not seen S1) and some of those runways are full of originality and stuff you have yet to see in RPDR. So much talent. Although tbh it's definitely weird to view it in this format but you get used to it.

Who are your favourite queens Pav?

I would love to see a Thai girl do All Stars, they could so easily do an international one with some UK, Canada and even Holland girls. There may be a bit of a language barrier but I think Angele knows enough English to be able to do it, plus the likes of Genie and Vanda got along not really, if at all, understanding Thai, I'm sure if they had a translator on hand just in case there were any crossed wires, it could be good. It might be hard to compare the different "styles" of drag but it also might be fun, I think if they thought about the challenges so that there weren't any cultural/language barriers (like just do a generic movie genre acting challenge, rather than something based on say Golden Girls), it would be a nice twist on All Stars that would stop them having to scrape the barrel for US girls when they insist on doing a series every 5 minutes.

 

That gives me a thread idea tbh

I don’t think they have ever had or will ever have a queen in a series that is produced in the US who doesn’t have an American citizenship or a green card or something that allows them to work/stay in the country legally for non-tourist purposes.

I can’t remember the name but it’s the English speaking queen who did that cloud look and won that challenge. I think it’s Genie.

What the f*** was that double Kana/Maya elimination? The lipsync was SO good but I totally understand the 3 lipsync thing the judges talked about. I guess she gets back into the competition since I clicked on that previous video from the first post and spoiled fun for myself, oooooops lmao

The Thai edition is so underrated, it's crazy.

I've not seen the final of this season yet although I spoiled part of it for myself. I'm saving it for a rainy day :')

Omg the double sashay was RIDIC, idk if it was even favoritism in the judging, I think they pulled some bullshit purely for the drama which worked I suppose given there was also the Gimhuay drama to cleave the cast basically in half within that couple of episode. Like if that happened on US Drag Race I'd be raging but when it did on DRT, I was like omg yaass drama even if I was pissed to lose Kana that early (not so much Maya, but she did definitely have a lot more to give).

 

I agree the format is weird at first, but by the time I was done with the season I really liked! I've said this loads of times but I love how they separate the challenge and runway, so if they do well in one but not the other, they still get that chance to shine and get a win and it makes both the challenge and runway feel important,

except when Tormai when Snatch Game but still got eliminated :')

Yessss, we loved to see it! It would have been easy to have them as almost a "gimmick" or for them to get lost among the high calibre of Thai drag, but they are easily holding their own.

I was in LOVE with Vanda's pageant look. So stunning. Same with most of Genie's runways really. The latter would surely make Top 3 in a US season because she's so polished and confident.

 

The format was indeed weird at first but after watching another few episodes I'm completely sold. The quality of those last few mini/maxi challenges was stellar. The Haunted Dolls play was so funny (and I actually preferred the Thai team as the high were much higher than the Int'l team's. If they keep up the quality I think this will become my second favourite Drag Race edition.

If we were to do a big rate, would you want the Thailand queens included as part of that? e.g. an ultimate rate for 2020.

 

Or would you have a preference for us to pick some of the more notable Thai queens, or none at all? (This might be more than a hypothetical question :P)

I caught myself thinking that if people think Michelle is a tough judge, they should probably watch a few episodes of DR Thailand lmao. They are SAVAGE AF and their criteria for a great runway are so comprehensive.

 

Also can we just talk about Art's looks for the runway shows? I mean COME FUCKING ON. *.*
