Whatever happens she smashed that performance of Glastonbury and extended her reign as relevant and fabulous artist. Kylie stays true to heart and although I would love a number 1 the fact that we have this amazing album of hits os just awesome especially as I have been a fan since I was 9.

 

Totally agree - as much as I would love a #1 regardless she proved tonight that she is a relevant confident artist that has stayed true to her pop roots, knows exactly how to position herself to ensure she doesn’t end up a legacy only artist and is able to take her fan base with her. I also LOVE the fact she steers clear of politics or trying to make music that’s better left to the 20 year old.

I will wait to see tomorrow's figures but Capaldi streamed 11k of albums last week that could well double this week plus glastonbury sales increase of physicals and downloads. He could well be over 35k-40k by weekend..... can Kylie get near that? Not too sure. All depends on those preorder number.....

I honestly think she will be in front - Lewis has had a decent boost from Glastonbury and great coverage - he hasn’t shot up the Spotify charts but remained stable, if he gets a 50% sales boost over last week from his performance he’ll end the week on 30,000, I think Kylie can beat that based on the fan multi buys and pick up sales - there is SO much good feeling towards Kylie and the performance and I think media will be all over it tomorrow and her getting emotional etc.,

I wish they had done a bundle package of all the cassettes to encourage sales - Bjork’s just released all her albums on cassette and is doing a special bundle price. I bought the Kylie ones but £75 for 5 cassettes and a format the record company knows 99.9% of are being purchased by collectors is extreme.

Apparantly 21k sales already and over double of Lewis capaldi at number 2 and kylie should get good sales today aswell before sales slow down. Hopefully she can hold number 1 and get opening sales close to that of Golden.
