I was very shocked at how low Czech Republic televoting points were. :( :(

Also shocked that Lithuania missed out on GF by only a point!!

Uk televote was amazing

12 Norway

10 Australia

8 Iceland

7 Switzerland

6 Denmark

5 Sweden

4 Netherlands

3 Spain

2 Azerbaijan

1 Cyprus

So much better without Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria and Latvia to take all out pints

In Semi 1 the televotes would've put Poland through over Belarus and the juries would've put Hungary over San Marino.

In Semi 2 the televotes would've put Lithuania through over Denmark and the juries would've put Moldova and Romania through over Albania and... Norway.

Gutted at Kate 9th after I really got caught up in her having a chance to win, I should put it into perspective and think that 2 weeks ago we weren't sure if she'd even Q, but still :( It really feels like no matter what Australia do, they're hindered by being Australia. To an extent it feels like that for Sweden in the televote too, I'm not one of those "it's all political" people but meh.

I would be extremely hesitant to blame Sweden's comparatively meh televote performances on anything political. In fact, in the past couple of years I've felt more that there are dynamics in the jury working in Sweden's favour unjustly ("it's Sweden, it must be credible") than anything to do with the televote. I honestly don't find it surprising at all that the consistently vanilla nature of Sweden's entries is getting them left behind on the televote at all, even if all of the songs are fantastically well-made and the performers are very competent. At the moment it feels that they're gunning for jury votes above televotes and they're getting the appropriate rewards for that.

Australia is a weirder case for this year in particular but I see similar dynamics to Sweden in a broader sense, where very safe entries are passed by on the televote in favour of more striking ones. This year I suspect that the Eurovision fandom's lack of love for the entry was telling, and operatic pop just seems kind of dodgy (see 'La Forza' getting a slightly underwhelming result) for some reason, no matter how spectacular it was. Kate definitely deserved better.

So it looks like we came last in the televote of 12 countries and second last in another 10. Awful

We were only not in the 20 somethings from a couple of countries

Was out at my friend's hens night (Bingo Loco can we NOT)so missed the entire thing but fantastic to see the Netherlands win! Italy coming 2nd is fantastic as well. Gutted Iceland didn't do a bit better but 10th is still great.

I thought Australia would do better. It has definitely grown on me and the staging was amazing but I found the chorus extremely jarring so could never get fully behind it ooops.

Can we talk about Slovenia somehow being the highest scoring ex-Yugo country on the televote!

Netherlands song is so overrated but at least it wasn't sodden North Macedonia. What a non-song that was.

Italy did well so I am pleased with that but it would have been a much better winner. Shocked at how low Australia was.

I thought Slovenia was dull and boring. The Netherlands i can totally see why it would win and its interesting it didnt win either the jury or public vote but did very well in both which is in contrast to many of the others who made the Top 10. North Macedonia for example done brill in the jury vote and not great in the public vote and on the complete opposite Norway did terrible with the juries but topped the public vote.

So pleased to see Netherlands win over Sweden! Both were in my top 5, but the Netherlands felt like the underdog just because Sweden's so consistently successful.

Couldn't watch this live so, for what it's worth, here's my belated rankings.

1 Slovenia - amazing song, stood out for being so subtle, and their awkward stage presence was part of its charm

2 Estonia

3 Czech Republic - The 1975 much? but hey, I loved it

4 Netherlands

5 Sweden

6 Belarus

7 Denmark

8 Azerbaijan

9 United Kingdom - yeah, not surprised it came last and they really need to stop sending such vanilla entries, but better than I expected and I like Michael's vocals

10 Switzerland

11 Norway

12 Malta

13 Spain

14 Germany

15 Australia - didn't care for the song itself but I love Kate and the staging was outstanding!

16 Iceland

17 Greece

18 Cyprus

19 San Marino

20 Russia - everything lower than this was 'meh'

21 Serbia

22 North Macedonia

23 France

24 Israel

25 Italy

26 Albania

There were 10 entries I loved, and they mostly did well, but for me it was neck and neck between Netherlands and Norway, and that's how the televote went.

I hate the Juries, too much power in a bunch of old music fans, and clearly political in the case of Russia who totally ignored all of the consistently-voted-for faves to boost the chances of their own. I mean, can't blame the individuals, they obv dont want to end up doing a Salisbury....

The jury's are always so in favour of Sweden's basicness. I'm glad the public votes reflect their popularity more

This year Sweden was pretty close but no cigar. I liked it but not enough to vote. Their consistency is amazing though:

2010: failed to qualify (travesty!)

2011: #3

2012: #1

2013: #14

2014: #3

2015: #1

2016: #5

2017: #5

2018: #7

2019: #6

I mean that is AMAZING track record.

The superior Robin failing to make the top ten is the travesty!
