I'd heard about Stephen Fry from rumours earlier on, so I'm glad that's turned out to be true; should be interesting! Lenny Henry on the other hand, I'm much less interested in...

The Mirror seems to think ep 1 will debut on New Year's Day and then the series will continue on Saturday teatimes from 4 January.

That seems pretty believable!

They need to axe 2 of the 3 companions - or the LOT of them and bring just ONE in. Bill's out there and has more personality than all three of them combined. Bring ber back.
Are we still getting a proper announcement on Saturday?

I think so, and given they've started announcing guest stars already I'm thinking/hoping it'll be a trailer at least.

Political commentary is prevalent throughout Doctor Who and it often helps to benefit the stories but a tagline like 'Space. For All' feels a bit redundant for the actual show and just brings back images of the unnecessary pregnant man in the pting episode.

The image of Jodie is amazing though! The placing of the companions is a bit of a second thought!

What Chibnall has to say:

"It's an ongoing journey so we're on a journey with this Doctor and these characters, so we want to do big, action-packed, emotional, scary, funny stories," he explained. "I think we want to go up a level from last year.

"Last year was a recruitment year for the show, for The Doctor, for getting everybody in… It's always a stepping-on point with a new Doctor. Also bringing that existing audience as well. This year, we're saying to those people and any other people, 'Here's the amazing world of Doctor Who. Here's lots of treats. Here's some new stuff. Here's some old stuff. Let's see what you make of this'. "But also, I think, for ourselves, I think the ambition is go up a level. I think we've done that."

The BBC has already confirmed that The Doctor and her fam will confront The Judoon in series 12, but those rhino-sized space police might not be the only familiar monsters. "I think we've got some amazing monsters. It's probably a bit scarier," Chibnall teased. "The thing is with Doctor Who, you've got to hit all of the notes… We've definitely got some bigger action set pieces. We've got some old monsters coming back. We've got some really brilliant new monsters. And there's a little thread trickling through. "It's not the same. We're developing the story for the Thirteenth Doctor and this gang."

Series 11 wasn't bad, it was just, on the whole mediocre but I'm HOPING they've listened to some of the comments and improved on that. The signs of old monsters returning is good but hopefully we can get some imaginative new monsters with actual villainy featuring a bit more prominently.

'A little thread trickling through'... the timeless child is back?? *.*

Same actually which says a lot about the other two

(and I wouldn't be opposed to Bill coming back to replace all three of them either)

Bill deserved better :(

Graham is by far my favourite of the current three, but that's partly because Yaz got NOTHING to do last series. I hope they up her role this time because I think there's real potential there.

So hyped for the trailer!! Hearing a LOT of promising stuff about this series so I'm hoping Chibbers has listened to the feedback from series 11 and put the effort into improving series 12. He's also confirmed he's sticking around for series 13 and they're planning it already!

Yeah Graham is really the only companion I like. Yaz is dull and Ryan had moments in the first episode but quickly went to dullsville too

Newsround have confirmed a New Year’s Day premiere today

Yeah I think there are too many companions. Didn't get enough of the new doctor last series imo. But still excited for this to start again.
