June 18, 20196 yr It's a shame the video has had such a backlash, I think it's really well made and cute, even though I can understand some of the critiques. The part with Katy at the end genuinely made me emotional. In terms of the song, it's far from her best, but I'm glad it's an improvement on 'Me!', even her fans seemed to turn on her for that one so I'm glad this one is a bit more palatable and less radio MOTR radio pandering. It's like a more enjoyable (actually good) version of 'Gorgeous' to me.

June 18, 20196 yr That video's a bit...misguided isn't it? I'm understanding the criticism, it's obvs a nice attempt with the best intentions, but she just can't help but turn it about herself. Look at the reaction and see how most of the focus is just on her and Katy Perry not "feuding" anymore and not the actual Pride message, they feel almost shoehorned in next to the references to her own detractors. The stereotyping of homophobic people as uneducated rednecks isn't good either, homophobia comes from a lot of places, some even running the country... As for the song, it's OK, I much prefer it to ME, but feels difficult to judge outside it's context. In a time when the LGBT community really need their allies, the malice is being directed at the wrong people. July 6, 20196 yr I'm still stanning but I def prefer ME! I do too! I think the general consensus is the opposite but ME! was just much more exciting and interesting. They're both pretty basic pop songs and ME! definitely has the worst lyrics out of the two but ME!'s video and general melody are great.
