Mel will be missed. A fitting ending for her though which I sort of felt worked better as an ending than just having her die in the crash. Having her join Hunter is tragic but it works well for her character. I was glad Sharon helped her too.

The stunt side of things lorry wise though not so good very Mean Girls esque  ! The most sudden shock death I’ve seen since Maddie and the car door on Hollyoaks. I’m sort of feeling like when it come to the ending Tamzin potentially pushed for the decision to have Mel killed off.

It was a pretty good episode too I’d assumed when Mel was alive if she was dying it would’ve been the duff duff of the episode but overall the episode was really good I thought. I can sort of see what some mean about Bexs line but she was likely in shock and all reactions seemed natural too.

Time to axe Eastenders. Have Mel wake up from a fever dream with Hunter, run off with him to Portugal, and end the show with a shot of her sat on the plane looking out the window. Play Julia's theme. The end. Mel is a legacy character. She should neeever have been killed off by someone who just finished watching Bird Box. Her ending was BASICALLY IDENTICAL TO TWO BIRD BOX SCENES MASHED TOGETHER!!!

I do think you’re blowing this way out of proportion. EastEnders is on fire right now in a good way.

No one is going to miss Mel more than me but her death actually makes sense from a character perspective as well as a story one. The character has come full circle. A large part of her died with Steve and the rest of it with Hunter. She’s been an empty shell of a woman since then and didn’t even care about blabbing Sharon’s secret in the end, she was so far gone. There weren’t many avenues left for Mel and Tamzin Outhwaite is literally never out of work and so it’s really is unlikely she’d ever come back. She has now had iconic moments in two eras of EE and is a character that won’t be forgotten any time soon. It’s not really like Abi Branning who had tons of potential left and was killed before her time. The character of Mel will never get boring now.

The only regret is surely that she was completely wasted during her first year back.

I see your point here a lot! 2019 Mel has been on fire and one of the best characters the shows had but it took a while for her return to work. But I agree that her death made sense and she left whilst the character was still on a massive high too so she should remain fondly with viewers.

Some iconic Mel moments to cheer us all up.

I really enjoyed Mel's exit. Proper dramatic stuff like classic Eastenders used to do. (Even though I LOVE Mel and wish she could return some day.) Obviously a massive lorry driving at that speed through a crash on a motorway is RIDIC but I suspend belief for the drama of it all (and we LOVE the drama.)

I didn't expect Lisa to blurt out the truth just like that and I assume they're all going to put it down to her being "ill". Can't wait for Christmas when it all comes out and Queen Lisa is proven right. We are in for an amazing few weeks.

I did not expect Lisa to come out with it which was a nice twist and further steps to the big reveal.
Time for the show to be axed.

If this was following the Magic Marv episode, I would agree. But we’ve come so far.

Considering Monday and Tuesday was so good...Thursday was a bit...oh. I don't think it was quite the huge final episode Mel deserved.

However, Lisa just blurting out the secret with no warning at the end of the episode!!

There was a lot of Carter rubbish considering it was Mel’s last episode. It was jarring.

I have now accepted this new Ben, it took a while although i don't relate to him as Ben Mitchell as he is many ways is too out of character but he is enjoyable.

He did need taking down a peg or two and who better than Kathy.
