That episode was awful. Buying Bex a car in the middle of December and not waiting two weeks to give her it, Martin becoming a gangster, the awful dialogue, such as, "you ain't got the bottle", and the storyline itself.

Dying at Sharon getting up at like 5am in the morning and she already has lashes on!

So good to see Rainie again! "Stranger things have happened, Ian, or you'd still be a virgin"! Lovely to see Rainie and Kathy settle their differences, I hope they can be friends again as they work great together.

Random thought but for all Phil goes on about family, it's strange that he's never taken an interest in Ricky, his nephew. Similarly, it's a shame the relationship Jack and Dennis had has completely disappeared.

Screaming at how brown Will was compared to his family, must have been hanging out with Sharon.

Amy, Queen Of Sass, icon in the making.

The show has fucked around with Martin and Stacey's relationship so much that I would actually welcome a Martin and Sonia reunion at this point.

I'd like to hope that Phil typically flying off the handle with Jack means that we'll see something different for the actual reveal. I want to see Phil and Sharon sit down and admit their mistakes and find a way to move on, either together or apart.

This is a dramatic soap, not real life :P

I don’t care about Martin and Stacey and never really have, they’ve often felt forced. Sonia is a better pairing although I’m not sure I’d wish current Martin upon anyone.

I always did find it strange that when they finally gave in a recast Martin they had him and Sonia split up.

They can do both. They managed in the 80s and 90s.

For all of SOC's faults, Martin and Stacey was one of his successes. That was needlessly undone by John Yorke for the sake of 'drama' and it'd been further spoiled by Kate Oates. I liked that when Stacey departed, they made up again but Martin pretending to dump her and then Stacey immediately getting with someone else was the last straw. It proved to me they didn't really love each other and we're probably only together for the sake of the kids in the end.

Peter hasn’t necessarily been painted in a good light off-screen since he left so I do wonder what sort of character he will be when he returns.

Didn’t Lauren go to join him in the end? Fully expecting her back at some point to capitalise on her I’m A Celeb victory.

Recast for Peter Beale: https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/eastenders...ng-peter-beale/

He actually looks like a combination of Ben Hardy and Thomas Law so that's a tick in terms of looks. They did a great job in recasting Bobby so hopefully Peter can be a success too.

Can this please be the end of Ian the Buffoon now?

He really does look like a hybrid of both Thomas Law and Ben Hardy

I also heard that's the 7th re-cast for a Eastender character  That beats Ben

I did expect a recast of Peter Beale.

That said, he is a relatively new actor so i cant see him staying in the role any longe3 than 3 years.

Having Peter back, may increase the chances of Laureen returning.

A bit cheeky of Jack to ruin Callum’s chances of making the police when he himself only got back in the force due to lying through his teeth about his own law breaking like the month.
