Would the mid week sales not suggest she's on par with previous weeks to sell 75-85k?

The only thing that matters is if her streams decrease (by more than the market) again. Her numbers are down from last week on Spotify so I'd guess that's quite likely, although not guaranteed.

I'd really love for Dua to get #1, but I don't want her to get a 'default' #1! It'd feel like a shallow victory.

lets face it, right now Dance Monkey is the #1 song in the Uk and. Dua the #2, they are not even close and the only way Dua can get #1 is on a technicality like ACR

Dance Monkey is still #1 on all platforms doing double than Dua on iTunes, nearly double on Spotify and like 10 times more on Youtube...

I didn't mind Dance Monkey at first but kinda done a 180 on it and kinda find it super annoying now

so don't mind if to loses the #1 but Dua will be a fluke #1 no matter how you look at it

she dropped just a little bit but the overall market increased so it counts as a decline I believe

Little Mix is just a Christmas song, don't see that making a huge impact. Does Lewis actually have a 'single' or is it just a handful of new tracks from the album re-release? Either way I don't know if he has the pull to go straight in at #1 if 'Hold Me While You Wait' couldn't.

 

I feel like this is different though, that was a grat which was released while 'Someone You Loved' was completely dominating (and at the time was his first proper hit), later being made a proper single. Since then he's had continued success, multiple big hits and significant raising of his profile. I think the conditions are just right for him to have another big #1 with an actual new single!

honestly I wish they could just freeze ACR rules for the holiday, I’m pretty sure there’s a list of songs that would have done better on the chart had they not been on holiday induced ACR
