August is usually a quiet time for album releases but August 30th is looking a big battle for the album number one with Bon Iver. Lana Del Rey and Tool all releasing new albums, who if any will make it to number one?

If any of them do (could just be Ed again), I reckon it'll be Lana.

Tool could do it however, though it's hard to tell how it will do as they haven't released an album since 2006.

Not really a 'big' battle for #1 imo, I'd be surprised if any can outsell Ed Sheeran; but let's see.

Could a poll please be added?

No idea, Bon Iver probably the highest of the 3 but yeah surely Ed will still be rooted to the top.

Lana will probably do around 20-25k, Bon Iver maybe 15 k, Tool a bit less, so Lana del Rey is probably gonna snatch it...

Lana is not a big album seller anymore, she’s probably do 10k, Bon Iver maybe 15 k, so probably Ed Sheeran will hang in there due to his high streaming figures..

To be fair, her last album Lust for Life sold 25k in the first week.

I think it'll be Lana charting the highest (maybe #1 if Ed's sales have died down enough by then) but I wouldn't rule Tool out either due to how long they've been away for.

Lana cos she's doing a Kylie and releasing lots of vinyls and cassettes even in all colours and shapes... she did pretty well on streams, out of 25k sales, 20K were pure sales and 5k were streams

just checked and last Bon Iver did 20k but I think they've grown in popularity since then, they've done lots of festivals, they also seem to have a very loyal fanbase that will buy the physical formats like Lana's fans

Agreed, I can see Lana doing it. I reckon cassettes are the sort of niche Lana fans would buy into. She's not really released anything to lead the album aside from the three tracks last year which at one point looked like they might not have even been on the album, but she has a solid fanbase so I can't see that hindering her too much, plus the multiple formats will help make up the numbers.

I don't know who Tool is! And their best selling album is only Gold (and from 2001) so they should be lucky to be anywhere near the top 10 unless I'm missing something.

Taylor's second week sales for Reputation were 19,720. She's declined since then and it was helped by being Q4 but I can still see her beating 2 or maybe all 3 of them

To be fair, Tool's albums were only made avaliable digitally for the first time on Friday!

They're a rock band with a large fanbase and the album's been very long-awaited (over a decade since their last album). It will be very front loaded but it should go at least top 5.

Lana is who I want to chart highest but it’s quite unpredictable at the moment.

It could be any of Lana, Ed, Taylor and Bon Iver.

I feel like sales only wise Lana could be the highest though.

Taylor will be an easy @1 on her week

But will be superfrontloaded

It wouldnt surprise me if she falls 1-5

No chance for 2 weeks at @1 imho

I’d be surprised if she did.

But P!nks Hurts 2B Human spent three weeks at #1 and a lot of people expected that to debut and peak at #2 so she could well manage more weeks at #1 but sell less than her last album did due to the time of year it’s been released.

Streaming wise she’ll probably be a stronger force than both Lana and Bon Iver too.

I have to admit I have doubts about how large that fanbase is, their chart positions and sales suggest otherwise
