I can’t get through a while listen of auto tune baby !
Not before the many soundtrack filler tracks we have to get through!

Oh I completely erased those from my memory :/

I forced myself to listen to 'Autotune Baby' all the way through for the sake of the rate and I too plan to listen to all the songs of the course of the results, so I'm listening to it again. This really was the only choice for last place. Even away from the crying baby, which is such a distressing, uncomfortable sound, her vocal is awful and the lyrics are rather incestuous. Lol at that average. Did well to score two 3s!

'Act of Contrition' isn't a song that I'd listen to on it's own, although I don't mind it in the context of the album. It's a hard one to rate, it's basically an outro rather than an actual song. It's a bizarre moment but finishes what is a deep, personal and thought-provoking album listen with a touch of humour.

I don’t think anything from Like A Prayer will go for a long while yet.

Act Of Contrition though is one of those take of leave like tracks.

It’s not the second worst thing she’s ever recorded though!

I actually would’ve preferred it as the album opener tbh.

Gonna predict that one of MDNA or Rebel Heart will be her first studio album to be completely out of this.

Like A Prayer or Frozen I feel could win.

I feel like a tooth being drilled, a nerve being killed by a dentist

240. Hey You // Others (00s) // 2.143

239. B-Day Song (feat. M.I.A.) // MDNA // 2.462

238. Cry Baby // I'm Breathless // 2.615

237. I'm Going Bananas // I'm Breathless // 3.231

236. Shoo-Bee-Doo // Like A Virgin // 3.688

'Hey You' claims the title of Madonna's worst rated single. Released for charity campaign Live Earth, the song has good intentions as it promotes self-love as the first step to making a change to the environment around you, but ultimately fails with its sickly-sweet lyrics and vocals too high for Madonna's capabilities. MDNA deluxe track 'B-Day Song' falls next and its existence can only be explained as the result of one too many drinks between Madonna and M.I.A; it offers nothing to the album and is a waste of what could have been an exciting collaboration. Two tracks from I'm Breathless - 'Cry Baby' and 'I'm Going Bananas' - drop out, songs in which Madonna mimics Betty Boop and Carmen Miranda. The vocals are excruciating and even the fact the songs are clearly not meant to be taken seriously can redeem them. Last of this group of songs is the 60s girl group resembling 'Shoo-Bee-Doo' from Like a Virgin. I think it's unfair to be placed among such monstrosities but perhaps it's too long and too overly sweet for most?

Madonna: 8/8

Like A Virgin: 8/9

True Blue: 9/9

Like A Prayer: 10/11

Other (80s): 10/10

I'm Breathless: 10/12

Erotica: 14/14

Bedtime Stories: 11/11

Evita: 13/13

Ray of Light: 14/14

Other (90s): 12/12

Music: 13/13

American Life: 11/11

Confessions On A Dancefloor: 15/15

Hard Candy: 13/13

Other (00s): 4/5

MDNA: 15/16

Rebel Heart: 24/25

Madame X: 18/18

Other (10s): 3/3

80s: 45/47

90s: 74/76

00s: 56/57

10s: 60/62

That's all my -1s out already so I'm quite pleased with that! 'Shoo-Bee-Doo' deserved better - in terms of Madonna's 80s material, yeah it could be argued it's one of her weaker efforts, but it's average at worst when you look at the other songs that have left.
I found it hard rating Evita. I wouldn't listen to it outside of a handful of songs and I couldn't tell you how those songs I don't listen to go like, but to award them no points and place them among the likes of 'Hey You', 'Cry Baby' and 'Autotune Baby' wouldn't be right. They're not bad songs, they're just not to my tastes.

Can’t argue with any of these results .

I’m expecting more of I’m breathless out with the next batch.

I dont think sex will last much longer either !

I have such a soft spot for I'm Breathless, it's going to pain me seeing them all go out early

Spoilers... but one track from the album did really well!!

Hey You - pretty dreadful, saccharine waste of a track

B-Day Song (feat. M.I.A.) - a real horror in her disocgraphy. Considering I am a huge M.I.A. fan, the thought of her and Madonna on a track with this as a result is just unbelievably bad. Two artists with such artistic integrity producing this - no.

Cry Baby - can't say I even remember how this goes (and relistening - i'm gutted it didn't remain that way!)

I'm Going Bananas - awful.

Shoo-Bee-Doo - the first one that i'm a little "awww" about. Don't get me wrong, it's one of the very worst of her 80s tracks but it's not as bad as the others in this selection when I compare!

I wonder if there were any other songs recorded between Madonna and M.I.A. aside this and GMAYL... I can't see how Madonna would have looked at her work and thought "I know the sort of songs I want to make with this artist".

I imagine songs like Bad Girls, Borders, Exodus between the two of them and think of how good their pairing could have been. Songs that SPOKE to people, that showed a sense of revolution and rebellion. Instead we get GMAYL and B-Day Song

Yes! 'Bad Girls' came to my mind too - a song that is full of attitude and empowerment and blends genres of the world. That's the sort of thing that would appeal to Madonna yet we get juvenile, happy-clappy pop with their two collabs? The result definitely isn't equal to the sum of its parts.

B Day song is pretty bad!

Nothing that’s gone has been any more than like a 4/10

But there’s definitely worse songs on MDNA and Rebel Heart what are worse than the other songs especially Shoo Bee Doo in my opinion.

SEX, Body Shop, Holy Water, Bitch I’m Madonna, Illuminati, Some Girls, Superstar and I Don’t Give A are all amongst the worst stuff she’s ever done.
