 it absolutely was not packed at all! It was fairly well sold but there were quite a few empty seats...

Darling I was at the very top and could see the whole thing, and it looked pretty much 95% sold, so it was absolutely packed, just not sold out ;)

Darling I was in the stalls right in front of Keith Lemon and I could see all the ones in the top corners we’re not filled and there were quite a few empty seats opposite me. I’d say 80% maybe, we’ll filled but packed means sold out which it was not.

What a fantastic show. It was my first time seeing Baby Spice live as a solo artist. And she didn't disappoint.

Emma's voice is incredibly strong these days. Comparing last night's performance to the Spice World 98 tour – you can tell she's been working on her voice over the years. Of course, she has always had that warm, sweet tone. But now, boy can she belt it out. What's more, she was a natural on stage – exuding personality and charisma. She was every inch the pop super star.

The whole production was carefully choreographed and every song brought something new. A great deal of attention had been given to creating a cohesive show. And yet she managed to weave together so many hits. 'Maybe' was a personal highlight. That dance routine alone was a spectacle to witness. Yet I also appreciated the swing-styled 'Say You'll Be There' and 'What Took You So Long'.

I'd personally love to buy a live recording of 'Emma Bunton's Christmas Party'. It was a dream.

Darling, packed does absolutely not mean sold out ;) Sold out means sold out. Packed means it was busy and sold well. No1 is saying it was sold out.

Kind of agree. I loved her solo songs, her Spice Girls covers and the fact she brought over gems from her own repertoire. It was a DELIGHT to see her perform Free Me, Take My Breath Away and Too Many Teardrops! What an absolute treat.

Personally, the overabundance of Christmas songs ruined it for me. She could have gone the better way and do just a couple of songs in each act but instead, she went IN on the christmas songs straight from the opening and personally, I just looked like bad karaoke with a budget...Shame she also mimed Maybe and Don't Call Me Baby. You could tell she was miming, which was sad.

Apart from that, MORE EMMA please!! Her voice was indeed incredible.

I left after What Took You So Long, because I had to get to Soho for a theatre show. I could have stayed for a bit more as I had the time, but honestly it was clear she was going to do more Christmas songs and no more of her own after that, so me and my friends just left ah

Hope she does her own tour, because indeed she has the talent and presence to do it!

Darling packed actually refers to things being packed in as in utilising every bit of space there is, so how can a not sold out date be packed?

Anyways I won’t argue one moment more sweet cheeks let’s just agree the night was fabulous :P

It was strange she missed out three of her top ten hits I'll Be There, What I Am and Downtown.

I'd have loved to hear I'll Be There again live was always a fave of mine.

Cute show though from the clips I've seen and it was lovely of Geri to support her.

What Christmas classics would we like to see her cover/perform?

I could imagine her doing these nicely for the album / to perform. Some of these aren't necessarily big favourites of mine, but I'm trying to imagine what would suit her vocals:

Baby, It's Cold Outside (with Jade Jones)

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

I'm Gonna Be Warm This Winter

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Santa Baby

Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town

Winter Wonderland

Would be great to see her perform Christmas Wrapping with Melanie C!

Just looking back to see which song choices I predicted correctly and what I was wrong about!

Correct predictions:

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Baby, It's Cold Outside (with Jade Jones) - (Ooh I was spot on with this duet *.*)

Winter Wonderland

Santa Baby - (and of course she even did a studio recording of this)

Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - (Although she performed it with Matt Goss)

I didn't predict:

Jingle Bell Rock

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Rockin' Robin

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

Incorrect predictions:

I'm Gonna Be Warm This Winter

Christmas Wrapping (with Melanie C)

Of the songs she did, that would have been a nice selection for a Christmas album. If she'd released an album it likely wouldn't have done great things, but it would have been nice to have it anyway. She was probably right to play it safe by just releasing one cover & a new song.

I wish I'd been able to go to the show, but unfortunately it just wasn't good timing for me. :(

Like schizo_spice says, I'm also quite surprised she snubbed I'll Be There, What I Am and Downtown. I feel like Downtown in particularly would have really suited the Royal Albert Hall.

I'm annoyed about the Coming Home For Christmas/Santa Baby CD. Supposedly only 96 copies printed? Ridiculous! That barely catered to people actually attending the show, let alone her fan base at large. Surely it's a missed opportunity to not print more & sell them on her website... she clearly has a few thousand loyal fans who would buy it. Would 96 copies even worth the manufacturing costs lol?

The CD single was sold out in the first half an hour. I think there was 100 at each entrance (96 probably at one because 4 had been pre-sold before the doors opened). Most fans on Spice Circle who attended didn't manage to get one as it sold out so quickly. Surely sticking 1k copies on her webstore now would be easy money.

The whole thing was a success though, she got amazing press after (especially for a solo spice girl) and really if she and BMG are willing a 10 date tour of 800 to 1k venues and a new album should be the plan. Add in some small summer festivals.

OK so we are going for semantics dissagrements here, which frankly I dont have much time for. I work in the entertainment business and let me tell you that sold out means sold out and 'packed' means it was busy close to sold out. It might be just a way that people refer to how well things sold rather than it being a standard use of the 'completely accurate and 100%' correct use of the English language.

I agree that the night was fabulous (thought I wish it had less Christmas songs..)

A small tour of 8 venues that seat 1k people would get all the Spice crazies flying back over to the UK for it because it would have the lure of hearing all the singles and album tracks. Take those xmas songs out and add in singles and album tracks and you have an even better show I'd say.

Agree! Plus if she does the odd festival/event as well, it just helps bring in other casual listeners in general. Get on the road Bunton!
Would be lovely if it spurs her on to try a little tour in the future. Let me see you in the midlands, Bunton!
I loved every one of her Christmas versions of the songs I have to say, really wish BMG had released a Christmas album with those songs now, they really suited her voice!

The problem for Emma is the amount of money she will make doing a small tour, new album and small summer festivals is probably nothing compared to a regular radio djing slot of a presenting/judging role on TV.

Last year she had the massive money safety net of the reunion tour so her solo music career was almost a side project. Next year if it is the only thing she has bar bits and pieces of other work here and there will be interesting to see if she is still committed.

But really there is no reason why she can’t do her solo career alongside other bits and pieces. It’s not like she is consumed by worldwide promotion it’s literally just a couple of weeks promo and a small tour can be done in a few weeks time too... she could easily have done it alongside her Heart radio gig, she could even have it negotiated it into her contract that they play her material if she has a good enough manager...

No-one makes money from Music releases. She literally needs to tour to make up losses of making an album and releasing it.

There was a fan on Spice Circle who mentioned that BMG are actually quite happy with Emma and have plans for next year for her. Let's hope she has a deal that covers it all, including her doing more charity, more touring projects, and hopefully more music.

Would be great if she could release some duets with other artists to tie her up until she has new music of her own to release though...
