September 13, 20195 yr 'Don't Call Me Angel' by an absolute MILE. 'Bang Bang' is just a dated screech-fest unfortunately. Nicki Minaj was the only redeeming part, so yeah. 'Don't Call Me Angel' always had an advantage for me as I like Ariana, Lana and Miley (whereas I'm not huge on Jessie J, so her as the lead was never promising) and they all delivered an exciting song with no screeching in sight. The only dated element here for me is the music video feeling super 2000s but that is a good thing! Sonically it's more of what Ariana's current style is in places.
September 13, 20195 yr I love both as songs tbh But I much prefer the other two artists involved on Don’t Call Me Angel to what I did Jessie and Nicki on Bang Bang so I’ll probably prefer Don’t Call Me Angel as time goes on.
September 16, 20195 yr I don't have disdain for Bang Bang like many here do (I actually loved it in 2014 lol~) but it has certainly dated and I don't go back to it much anymore. Don't Call Me Angel benefits from extreme freshness. I would therefore choose Angel right now, but I'll be interested to see how I feel in a year from now!
