September 29, 20195 yr Is the resolution set correctly? Should be 1920x1080 according to the specs (best resolution x), sorry if it sounds obvious and I would've thought that'd be default anyway but was the first thing that came to mind.

January 27, 20214 yr Has anyone bought a new laptop in the last 12 months? I need some recommendations please. Wanting something with a much more powerful processor than I have currently (pentium) so at least i5 or i7 core. Budget of around £500-£600. Thanks. ^_^
January 27, 20214 yr Everything seems to have shot through the roof pricewise atm :') pain in the ass
September 22, 20213 yr My going-on a bit laptop died on Monday night, caused by a CPU-charge malfunction, but it was starting to show its age a little, which, given how much use I got out of it, fair. Was hoping it'd hold on until next summer but wasn't to be. Didn't lose anything much, I salvaged my data and some new fans I'd recently installed. Anyway RIP Teruhashi, rise Mori (sign of me not watching enough new anime to have a flavour-of-the-month all-timer to stan). I had to be quick so I didn't do most of my usual research but I'm fairly happy with my impulse here. Fallen for the gaming laptop scam again, willingly, there's a reason I do that out here, I want as little as possible that I'd have to ship back to the UK some day, but this time a Dell G15 5510, i5, 16GB RAM with an RTX 3050, which is a decent card, probably not enough to do the latest games but I don't play the latest games so that's cool, I just want it to be mostly competent at most things. Only a 512 SSD but I have my old hard drive hooked up to it, probably permanently, so that's basically 2.5 TB, still not enough though. I'm mostly satisfied so far, aside from the arrow keys being in a weird position that'll just take muscle memory time to figure out. One downside, I had to get the seller to put on a cracked edition of English Windows 10 to stop it all default being in Chinese, in normal times I'd have gone to Hong Kong but even though it's right there, that isn't an option. Basically to avoid default functions being in Chinese and spyware. It seems to have worked (main tell is Windows 10 is Pro rather than Home) but I'm going to keep a very close eye on my background processes and alert messages and if I'm not satisfied I may reinstall Windows myself.
