September 30, 20196 yr Keane must be kicking themselves looking at that October release schedule I doubt they're that bothered, they easily could've moved it :P
September 30, 20196 yr Author Where are Tegan and Sara, are they not even top 100 in the album mids? I don’t see them in the top 200 even which seems kinda odd, wondering if there’s an error -x- Cool to see Girl Band appearing in the top 40 *.*
September 30, 20196 yr French Montana flopping so hard with his song even when it features Post Malone and Cardi B :o It would instantly be a hit if R1 playlisted it
September 30, 20196 yr My god at that name! "Alright Cowell, we have a bland girl band. We have no idea for a name." "Eh. Call them girl band."
October 1, 20196 yr It would instantly be a hit if R1 playlisted it It's not that simple  It is struggling in the US too.
October 1, 20196 yr My god at that name! "Alright Cowell, we have a bland girl band. We have no idea for a name." "Eh. Call them girl band." Well luckily the one in the chart isn't actually a girl band
October 1, 20196 yr Keane must be kicking themselves looking at that October release schedule Next Week would probably have been their best opportunity for #1 but could still see them being behind Elbow -> James Arthur -> Stereophonics in the 3 weeks after. Keane have been on tour over the last couple of weeks, suspect they wanted the Album out for the Tour.
October 1, 20196 yr Seeing Tones and I at No. 1 still seems really surreal - would never have imagined it a few weeks ago. It reminds me of when 'Sweet But Pyscho' went to No. 1.
October 1, 20196 yr really? it was clear to me from the start that it was gonna be massive, mostly cos Spotify was pushing it like crazy
October 1, 20196 yr It's not that simple  It is struggling in the US too. Something else that's 'not that simple' is just getting a big hit purely by having big name features... if anything recent evidence points that having tons of big names together on a track leads to underwhelming chart impact more often than not. French Montana has never been a big instant hitmaker as a lead artist, his only song that's debuted in the top 40 here is 'No Stylist' and that was with Drake who is significantly more of an 'on name only' draw in the UK than either Post Malone or especially Cardi B (she didn't even make the top 40 with the last of her own singles let alone a feature for a much more irrelevant artist). And if we're talking about the US too, 'No Stylist' wasn't even that big of a hit there (only peaked at #47). Post Malone has never previously had a feature instantly take off either (actually he's done barely any features but the only one that got big was 'Jackie Chan' and again that took a few weeks to get going so it's not like we should expect anything he features on to be an instant huge smash based purely on his name). This song may or may not grow into a bigger hit later - imagine ever writing anything off as a flop in its first week in current year etc. - but even if it doesn't it's hardly surprising that it'd just turn out to be a very moderate 'not a very interesting song but charting for a few weeks on name power' hit like Swae Lee & Drake's recent collab. I'm like 90% sure you're only commenting on this because you seem to have some weird agenda to downplay all of Post Malone's recent career for whatever reason though so I'd like to draw your attention to the fact 'Circles' is climbing :P x
October 1, 20196 yr I know. Which is why it seems weird to me that like half of your posts recently are trying to make a point of Post Malone 'underperforming' (even when he isn't). xxx
October 1, 20196 yr I think he should be doing better considering how big his previous era was? Anyway, two #5 singles in a row is pretty good but he might have peaked commercially, for now at least.
October 1, 20196 yr With the low sales climate down the chart i thought Becky Hill could easily secure a low Top 40 entry. She does great on collaborations but always falls short on her own name alone which disappoints me.
October 1, 20196 yr the Becky Hill 'album' is just a throwaway of all her big collaborations plus a few new songs which had barely any hype or promo. I'd say she's doing well to get a midweek top 40 out of it, it's not meant as her proper debut album but more as a promo tool to get her some more streams. a bit like those Billie Eilish and Mabel projects that prefaced their debuts, or the Jax Jones/Sigala albums that are also mostly a greatest hits compilation.
October 1, 20196 yr Yeah I wasn't aware Becky even had an 'album' out so it makes sense that it's just a compilation of her material so far ahead of a proper album release.
