Posted October 25, 20195 yr Step Back in Time is 29 years old this week, having a release date as a single on Oct 22nd 1990. This time, 29 years ago, Kylie was heading for what would become her 10th Top 5 single. It is enjoyable seeing the song get more attention now due the Greatest Hits carrying the name and a very fitting name too.
October 26, 20195 yr god time does fly, i remember release week so well and as usual been all excited when my local record shop had the vinyl. Have always been a fan of the song, very catchy, i still prefer what do i have to do but love it all the same same. Edited October 26, 20195 yr by Feel_The_Fever
October 28, 20195 yr A seminal classic. I was only 3 years old when it was released though, so I wasn't aware of it at the time.
October 28, 20195 yr Author The 4 singles from Rhythm of Love are all strong, very different but yet connected. From all the work PWL done through the years this time differentiated from most of their other work.
October 28, 20195 yr There were great singles, I dont think anyone can deny that and they have survived the test of time.
October 29, 20195 yr Great track, a definite highlight in Kylie's discography - a thumping 90's dance tune with some guitars added & love the 70's disco music references. A great choice to follow up to her classic 'Better The Devil You Know' & just an all round great song. Looking at the chart the week it reached its peak of #4, it was held off by some pretty classic hits. It was the highest entry the previous week at #9 - time for some nostalgia the top 20 for the week of 04/11/1990 = Pos LW WoC 01 01 03 The Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody [1990] 02 02 06 The Beautiful South - A Little Time 03 03 05 Berlin - Take My Breath Away [1990] 04 09 02 Kylie Minogue - Step Back In Time 05 16 02 Kim Appleby - Don't Worry 06 06 05 Belinda Carlisle - (We Want) The Same Thing 07 05 04 Whitney Houston - I'm Your Baby Tonight 08 04 09 Maria McKee - Show Me Heaven 09 21 02 Black Box - Fantasy 10 19 02 Robert Palmer & UB40 - I'll Be Your Baby Tonight 11 NE 01 Gazza & Lindisfarne - Fog On The Tyne (Revisited) 12 11 07 Rita McNeill - Working Man 13 15 02 The Cure - Close To Me [1990] 14 07 04 Happy Mondays - Kinki Afro 15 18 06 Paul Simon - The Obvious Child 16 08 07 Status Quo - The Anniversary Waltz (Part One) 17 10 07 Bobby Vinton - Blue Velvet 18 22 03 Roxette - Dressed For Success 19 13 05 A-Ha - Crying In The Rain 20 39 02 The LA's - There She Goes [1990] Quite a lot of re-releases.. October 29, 20195 yr The Beautiful South - A Little Time, this is a classic. This, Kim Appleby Maris mc kee and Belinda carlisle are big faves of mine along with kylie of course.
October 30, 20195 yr Author (We Want) The Same Thing is one of Belinda Carlisle's strongest singles and a stand out in her impressive discography. Belinda's recent Gold release has performed the best to date from all the Gold releases hitting the market. Edited October 30, 20195 yr by pippa
October 31, 20195 yr 'Summer Rain' is I think for me, the ultimate Belinda track these days. It's just incredible.
October 31, 20195 yr I do like summer rain and little black book. I do enjoy many of her singles and still enjoy 70% of her original greatest hits. Edited October 31, 20195 yr by Feel_The_Fever
October 31, 20195 yr Author In Too Deep was her last very catchy hit. Summer Rain and Runaway Horses deserved much better success than they achieved.
November 1, 20195 yr Author I looked up that cover version of Summer Rain and it is a very catchy cover version.
