He was accused in a national newspaper of that!

Yes I know and they said he was a big risk to national security and would never get the clearance to be PM but frankly I didn't really believe it.

It was still said though which is the point in question.

Do you believe everything you read in newspapers?

You believe everything you read on the internet, so what's the difference?

I don't at all.

The point is that this was one of many nonsense accusations against the leader of the opposition in the last four year that engrained in the culture of people.

Yes several people have said to me this weekend that they couldn't vote for Corbyn as "he's an IRA supporter"

Should have given them the name Maria Gatland to look up.

THEY ARE ALL THICK!

THEY ARE ALL THICK!

Remind me - how well did such sentiments work last Thursday? :teresa:

They didn't but it doesn't stop someone who knows a lot about Irish politics being annoyed how the average person over in England thinking Corbyn is an Ira sympathiser is stupid to it understand the complexities of he situation.

Tbh its super hypocritical of all the folk in England getting their knickers in a twist *about* someone being an IRA sympathiser as if their army didn't murder just as many of our civilians.

Yes, the IRA got caught up in the war, but their original aims were for liberation and its arguable that the path taken was ultimately successful, much as English people hate to even think about the whole situation as it involves admitting imperfection and not always being the big heroes of the story.

It's those people that have zero empathy or understanding for why the IRA came to be and would rather cast them as troublemakers just out to sow chaos, who I'd be more wary of.

I just hate right wing Little englanders who's only mentality is us vs them and our boys done good.

Exactly the sames happening with Islamic terrorism today.

If you did that with the Tory mps, it would REALLY open your eyes to what they think about us.

Again, you assume, with no other 'proof' than your own convictions...

From Sky News.

On the ITV Peston Show tonight former Labour MP Melanie Onn has revealed that a few days ago she went to her Westminster Office to collect her belongings and Jeremy Corbyn just walk past and stared at her but didn't say a word, not even a sorry you lost . For a Leader not to acknowledge a former MP or to say sorry to them is not good enough she says.

Mary Creagh, another Former MP, saw him taking selfies and laughing and joking with people. Some others had a go him for not caring about former MPs and it is said he has not written to any former MP that lost to thank them for their service to Parliament or party either. Other former MP's say they've seen him close up too whilst clearing their offices before their security passes expire at midnight on 20th and he hasn't even acknowledged them.

When other leaders have lost, both labour and Tory, they've always written to or phoned former MP's who lost their seats.

Good riddance Corbyn.

He does seem a broken man from his appearances in parliament this week, the exact reason why former leaders find it hard to continue after a defeat.

I would say though these sources are all people who always hated Corbyn and his leadership so god knows what the personal relationship has been like these past few years.

He apparently refused to talk to anyone at the State Opening today. Not even exchanging a few words with Boris as is the usual gentlemanly way.
