I’ve taken the “get off the titanic before it hits the iceberg” approach and have less than 3 weeks remaining as a UK resident

Hope you're not leaving Buzzjack though. :D

Latest Bet 365 odds on seats to be won- they don't always get it right but they're usually more accurate than polls and if they are wrong , more often than not, it's not by much

Tory 338.5

Labour 200.5

Lib Dems 38.5

SNP 48.5

Imagine a day like today on polling day. It will drive down turnout and that benefits Tories. Labour should havr been more tactical with the date. Imagine a day like today but with the big freeze. These are all possibilities.

Labour can't know the weather 6 weeks ahead, so I'm puzzled as to what you think they could have done?

Spring election.

Wouldn't work - both parties needed to cooperate for the election to happen.

What about today? Dry here now but a bit windy. Was raining earlier but not heavy. We've had far worse days recently. :)

Brexit Party implodes after Nigel Farage's general election 'dodgy deal' with Tories

The anti-EU party had been set to hold a rally in Westminster today, but this was quietly cancelled as members vent their fury at Nigel Farage over his "dodgy deal"with the Tories

The Brexit Party has descended into chaos following Nigel Farage's decision to pull hundreds of candidates in a pact with the Tories.

Mr Farage is facing a huge backlash from supporters, with his announcement that 317 seats will not be contested labelled "a disgrace to politics".

The anti-EU group had been set to hold a rally in central London today - but this was cancelled as the party implodes.

And it was further rocked after a Brexit Party MEP said this morning she would not vote in the General Election in protest.

Alexandra Phillips wrote on Twitter : "I will be one of millions of people who will not vote at all in the General Election. That breaks my heart.

"I have voted in every election since I was 18 and been involved in politics for over a decade. And I have been disenfranchised by my own party."

Despite promoting its Westminster rally at the weekend, the Brexit Party quietly scrapped the event.

The party had been due to hold a meeting at Church House in Westminster, but a spokesman confirmed it was "not happening".

He said the party had "already said what we needed to say".

Members of the media turned up unaware of the cancellation only an hour before its 11am expected start time.

Yesterday Mr Farage told supporters in Hartlepool that he was putting "country before party", shifting attention to contesting Labour seats and those held by Remain-supporting MPs.

But he has failed to convince many candidates that this is the right move.

So why doesn't she stand as an independent if shes that disinfranchised.

Because that's not as good a soundbite? :teresa:

The Brexit-Tory pact will be had for labour/Lib Dems in the south but should bolster labour in the north and midlands as it highlights how close the tories-Brexit party are. Although if people here only care about Brexit it could still harm them.

Anyone else off the day after the election?

I think too although a lot of the North voted leave; Johnson's handling of the floods etc isn't going to do him any favours.

In fact i'd say how things are being handled will put pay to quite a number of votes up there and no doubt see them going to Labour.

The Tory campaign so far has been awful; the handling of the flood, Sajid Javid making up lies about what Labour intend to spend, however saying nothing about Tory Spending, Gove lying about the party looking into Islamaphobia and moving the goalposts, the constant criticisms of not publishing the Russian report thing, the huge amount of MPs needed to be de-selected for racist, sexist comments....

The list goes on

The 2010 series of The Apprentice had to be delayed because Lord Sugar was a Labour peer and Cabinet Minister at the time of the General Election. I'm guessing that it's because he now sits as a cross-bencher , and because of 6.7 of the Ofcom Broadcast code, that the current series isn't suffering from the same fate.

Yet the presence of Karren Brady, a Tory peer is, apparently, perfectly OK.

I think too although a lot of the North voted leave; Johnson's handling of the floods etc isn't going to do him any favours.

What was he supposed to do - part the waters like Moses?
