they're also top 100 on Apple Music.

an official top 40 hit could actually happen if they keep climbing like this.

Seeing as I've seen a few of them perform many times in small pub-like venues, I feel quite happy for them to achieve something like that!

Dua number 2 on AM and Spotify after 3 days it's insane. Well done for her, such a strong lead single. Must be number 1 in a week or 2 please!
I personally don't find it insane if you consider the playlist support she's got from the get-going...
even Ellie - Hate Me would do 300K if it was track #1 on HH and TTH and NMF since day 1 :o

this is actually called Roxanne :D climbing super super fast :o

If they want to save the charts they need to stop counting sales from playlists... A song sale should count if someone wants to hear not when they are forced to because they are put into certain playlists..

This argument rearing its head again  the skip function exists for people to move swiftly past a song they don't want to hear. Yes there will be passive listeners, but not everything on HHUK enters the charts.

Although there's also the issue of it counting if they don't skip past 30 seconds, which even I've done with songs I hate before if I'm not focusing.

Very true, but it can't be said this is the case for every single Spotify user. Nothing in the Top 200 really turns out to be in there as a surprise; people are usually actively streaming the songs featured.

it's worst for the Spotify free users on the phone, they can go to a playlist or album but cannot choose what song to play, it's all random, and they can only skip a few songs and after that they cannot skip anymore

The streaming impact of free users' on the charts is much less though as the sales are 600:1. Spotify Free is only naff on the mobile only version, desktop and tablet versions have great functionality and do not limit skips.

anyone here is suggesting that a song in HH would chart the same while not in this playlist? No! Does it make it a better song if it's there or not? No!
I think we can conclude that without playlists, Westlife would be #1 on streams :) possibly there would have been only 4 #1s this year in the UK, the 4 Westlife singles replacing each other :o
