I'm not really refuting what you said Bjork lol, my post was more of a tangent than anything, I probably should have made that more clear ~ obviously there is a bias in that the demographic of the genre overlaps with the demographic of streaming services (and hence the charts) more than with any other genre. And obviously a posthumous single by an 80s popstar which got to *#2 on iTunes then freefell isn't going to be a big hit on Spotify. I'd like to know how you 'couldn't disagree more' with the point that less successful rappers (and for that matter the singles from popular rappers that don't chart highly) don't get as much attention here as underperforming artists from other genres though?

Where are people seeing the top 200 update? The Spotify charts website is still on the previous day's update for me (and Kworb is still 2 days behind lol).

 

Yay for 'Everyday Life' briefly being top 200 from the NMF impact ~ shame it wasn't doing anything prior to that and probably won't after today either as it's easily the best of the 3 songs from this era so far for me.

 

J Hus and Dave both slightly lower than I thought they'd be (was expecting them to both be ahead of at least Regard if not Dua as well) but still both should have a shot at top 5 debuts, at least top 10 for sure. Insert disingenuous ramble about pop bias.

I'm doubtful. It has to hold out for another 7 weeks or so and the closer we get to Christmas, the more streams Christmas songs are going to get, which usually has a negative effect on non-Christmas songs. If Mariah does get reset this year from ACR, I don't think there'll be any competition. Although there's the possibility of Adele releasing.

 

From here on out we're going to see Christmas songs appearing every weekend. I wonder how long it'll be before they start holding up throughout the week? I'm quite excited for Christmas this year. :cheer:

Oh oops at that rather steep drop for Dave...! It's holding up a lot better on Apple although has fallen slightly (to #6, after getting as high as #3). J Hus is still #3 on Apple and Fredo is now up to #14 there after his weirdly slow start. Maybe it was only released partway through the day or something.

didn't realise the new Meduza is top 10 on both Spotify & Apple now + top 20 on iTunes

so should go top 10 come Friday!!

up to #60 now on Apple

Meduza was doing pretty well on Apple Music (top 10) but now suddenly had a big drop there and it's down to #13

so not sure anymore if it can go top 10 this Friday

 

the urban domination continues at Apple (#2 J Hus, #10 Fredo, #20 Roxanne, #25 blackbear) but it's nice to see a new beautiful song featuring Julia Michaels
