Why would that be ok though? If a song avoids ACR it shows it's popular and deserves to remain in the chart. It also shows the difference between a quick fire hit and a huge hit in this day and age so I like it the way it is.

Hadji posts some variant of 'the OCC should ban songs from avoiding ACR 3 times' every couple of weeks or so no matter how many times people point out how stupid that is.

I’ve lost count of how many times DM has avoided ACR. OCC should change the rules so that if a song avoids ACR three times, then it gets immediate ACR

But surely any song that doesn't go on ACR has avoided ACR that week?

lol I do enjoy his eccentric views especially on the Radio 1 Playlist thread!!

The rate it’s going, it could end up being Xmas #1. If the rumours about Stormzy releasing his Ed collab on Friday are true, then hopefully it will dispose Tones from the top

It's been huge though - it's weekly sales have been over 80k throughout its run I think when most songs this year have been on average closer to 55k!
And might I point out that if Stormzy & Ed release their song on Friday and go to #1, Ed will be the first artist to score four number ones in a year since Westlife in 1999

I think to be honest, if Hadji had his way all songs would be erased from the chart after 6 weeks simply because he's bored of them.

When was the last time two or more albums that have Ed credits made the top 5?

From BPI,

Westlife - Spectrum - Emi - Silver - Album - 22.11.2019 - 15.11.2019

So over 60,000 in first week.
