No please, Xmas nightmare more like it
Stormzy vs. Harry Styles that week... Interesting. Both could be denied the #1 album of course, depending on what’s selling well in the run up to Christmas.
Interesting times - December the new November in terms of big releases since the albums market collapsed!
Why the flipping heck is Sounds of the Skeng not on it? That song really heightened my anticipation for the album. I can only imagine it doesn't fit with the rest of the songs (bad) or he has done another similarly intense grime banger that blows it out of the water (good). Has he written it out of history because it underperformed a bit? Wiley Flow did worse but that was more of a promotional single.

'Sounds Of The Skeng' being left off while 'Wiley Flow' made it on does seem a bit weird, if anything the latter felt more like a throwaway loose single. It may just be that he's completely abandoning grime for the album I guess which would be a shame.

That list of features does not really fill me with much hype for this album, although I am looking forward to hearing the Ed collab (and of course Stormzy has plenty of great songs without features anyway).

Burma boy sounds always great on everything, pity sheeran does not
I like both Ed and Burna Boy's contributions to this but I think Stormzy himself lets it down unfortunately. I just don't really care much for him on songs like this (reminds me a bit of 'Shine Girl' with MoStack which I didn't like at all, this is better than that but it's still just decent on first listen, definitely the weakest of the singles he's dropped this year on first impressions).
Not feeling Own It. I can't bear Sheeran anyway but this just sounds like countless other forgettable landfill urban songs that have hung around the bottom reaches of the Top 40 for a month or so over the past couple of years. I wanted to like it! Starting to feel much less excited about this record :-(

Did tbf bunk it'd be your thing Hadji, I'm not feeling it yet myself.

Stormzy, I'm guessing he'll be doing his utmost to get the Xmas double won't he after what happened with 'Shut Up'.
