Monday's TOTP starts at 4:45pm to 5:45pm, performances from Mabel, Lewis Capaldi, Blossoms, Dermot Kennedy, Freya Ridings, Celeste and Jack Savoretti. They also look back at some of 2019's most memorable music moments and celebrate the final number one of the decade.

Is Celeste one of the Sound of 2020 nominees.

Bit odd showing TOTP a day early usually its on New Year's Eve.

Celeste is one of the Sound of 2020 nominees indeed

They genuinely could’ve put it on NYE as well instead of repeating Gangsta Granny

He did Christmas Morning

Oh very nice actually. Not that it'll get much of a boost on Xmas day.

Their listings haven't been very fair to totp this Xmas. My sister text me yday at 2pm asking when totp was on as it's tradition to watch. Had to tell her it's long over.

TOTP Christmas is so flipping boring now. Why isn't there Kylie with a medley or Harry Styles or some golden oldies like Robbie, Rod, Coldplay who have all had huge albums this year...?

They at least try to go for a bit of a mix by including acts like James Blunt and The Script, but I agree they could actually go further. It's kind of pointless them trying to make the show cool and relevant when most of the audience are probably not following the singles chart anymore.

Also not making today's show a Best of the 2010s feels a bit of a missed opportunity. Instead looks like we're going to get quite a few very random songs..

Lily Moore <3 Random but great booking, she deserves huge success.

Love the Sigma/Jack Savoretti and Freya Ridings tracks too. They're not hits, but I'm just pleased to see an outlet for them to perform on TV.

I know what you mean, and I prefer to watch relatively unknown songs get performed rather than the hits everybody has overheard by the time they get TV performances!

I'm not really watching it, just listening to it as background music.

Apart from the Joel Corry repeat I thought that was a fairly solid show.

A few big hits and a few decent new tracks. Still don't think they'd get the bookings now (and the charts don't move quickly enough) for a weekly show to be viable, but a monthly show could work perhaps?

I was expecting Sigala to do a performance with Ella Henderson as both artists were on the Christmas special, that was the only other song I was expecting to hear from this show, but all in all a pretty decent show. Freya Ridings, Sigma/Jack Savoretti and Celeste were probably the stand out performances for me, Blossoms was good too.
Joel Corry again seriously? This performance was used on the Christmas Day show too. :nocheer:

You did watch the original shows right?

The performance was unnecessarily repeated on today’s show.

I know they used to do this a lot in the original shows to make up the time. Seems a bit poor to do it on the yearly double header lol.

I’ve just caught up on this week’s and OH MY GOD at Celeste. She was absolutely stunning. I had goosebumps the entire time.

The Labrinth song is one of the better actual songs to have been performed but he's really the absolute bottom of the barrel for relevant artists to book in 2019. He doesn't even sell albums any more.

I was just thinking about this thread. It's mad to think now that he has 28 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

And despite this being a flop album at the time, in the last month he's had two songs from it chart!
