They could easily have spent more than that making it - they'd have been better off just donating costs and not bothering at this rate.
Is this a record for the lowest peaking sales #1 on the official chart?

 

Melanie C’s Anymore peaked at #1 on the official sales chart but didn’t chart in the top 100 at all on the overall chart.

Actually that was #1 on the Physicals-only chart

It does highlight how much the x factor has fallen

It says more about how the charts have changed.

 

Don't get me wrong, X Factor's star has clearly fallen but when you're releasing it on Saturday you're already a day behind and it's not the sort of thing that will be streaming friendly anyway.

It just goes to show you how outdated the X-Factor and charity single formula is - both were based on people buying it out of goodwill, not on them being actual songs that people wanted to listen
