December 3, 20195 yr This is sort of a bop. The intro and verses with that piano was unexpected at first but I like it. Her new album is called Such Pretty Forks in the Road and is apparently out May 1st 2020.
December 3, 20195 yr I think this will take some time, find it a bit Emeli Sandesque :D her voice is still Alanis but sounds a but different She's also announced a JLP anniversary tour but US only so far
December 3, 20195 yr Alanis' lyrics always make me laugh, the way she fits so many in with pronounced syl-la-bles is so uniquely her. This is okay, it's certainly more memorable than the material from her last album.
December 3, 20195 yr This is okay, it's certainly more memorable than the material from her last album. Yeah for sure. Back when that was first out I listened to it a lot and it's got some moments I enjoy, e.g. 'Spiral', that's the only one I go back to these days cos of its catchy vocal line lol. It's a catchy album BUT, looking back it's kind of a weak link for her and my least favourite. I think it was rushed and that's exactly what it sounds like. I don't think I'm ever gonna get another Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (one of my faves of all time) but that would be fab. I've read comments of her saying this new one is her 'Adele piano album' :o Made me think of 'Not as We'.
December 3, 20195 yr Not as We is my fav Alanis, think it's the best thing she's ever done, I still remember it premiered in an episode of House back in the day. It's a far more mature Alanis than in JLP but still with an edge, not sure why Not As We wasn't pushed more, it's Alanis at her very best
December 6, 20195 yr Author DrC8AEWO3-8 She sounds actually better live than on the record, lol :yahoo: Edited December 6, 20195 yr by jszmiles
December 7, 20195 yr if you think R1 is sexist and ageist, same for Spotify, cannot believe this wasn't on NMF, they had 90 new songs but they did not include this one :/
December 8, 20195 yr I really like this and haven't really liked anything of hers since single Thank You
