she was really a fighter, had been fighting with cancer for 17 years

maybe it's cos I live in Scandinavia but here everybody knew about her fighting with the illness

for a while at the end off the 80s/early 90s, they were so huge in the US, their first 7 singles all did incredibly, including 4 #1s:

The Look #1

Dressed for success #14

Listen to your. heart #1

Dangerous #2

It must've been love #1

Joyride #1

Fading like a flower #2

I did not realise they had such huge American success.

Disappointingly, a UK number 1 always eluded them, but at least they made for it in the US.

It's a shame they never had uk number 1.

If Eurythmics never released their greatest hits album in 1991, Joyride would’ve topped the album chart

I didn't know any of their songs except for IMHBL but I've dedicated a lot of time to their greatest hits this past week and I'm absolutely loving it.

Favourites: IMHBL, Fading Like a Flower, Listen to Your Heart and Wish I Could Fly

I will need to go through the albums at some point too. Which are the essential listens, or shall I work through chronologically?

Such a shame nothing had any chart impact due to the Christmas onslaught - hopefully we get a new comprehensive GH next year.

Joyride was my favourite album as a kid, although I do think their singles are generally their strongest points.

I hoping the same.

Have A Nice Day is a favorite of mine. There are some strong songs beside the singles.

And their latest one, Good Karma was a really pleasant surprise.

What I really like about their discography is that there are tons and tons of demo versions of their songs avaliable.

Crash boom bang is their fave album for me but joyride is also great.its also easy to forget how many great singles they had until you listen to the greatest hits.
Was hoping it must have been love would be top 100 this week or even the greatest hits on the album chart.
At least their 30 Biggest Hits XXX reentered at #117, digital #22. I wish it would have been higher, but for December it's not bad.

I'll admit that the complete cynic/chart geek in me wanted them to push the original It Must Have Been Love (Christmas For The Broken Hearted) onto Christmas playlists.

Nice touch ending it with two different generations of Marie/Roxette's backing band doing Fading Like A Flower.
Good to see she got a tribute show, with their success faded out for years in the UK there prob wont be any uk tribute show.
