Posted December 13, 20195 yr Who do you think was the best PM that never was? Discuss the subject too please. Suggestions: Denis Healey, Neil Kinnock, Geoffrey Howe, Ken Clarke, Ed Miliband, Michael Heseltine, William Hague, David Miliband, Jeremy Corbyn Any others? For me it was John Smith. :( He'd have won a good majority in 1997 too. Sad loss when he died in May 1994. Ken Clarke too. Was Chancellor, Home Secretary and Education Sec. but never became party leader, mainly because of Europe it's said. Denis Healey seemed a clever guy too. I was reading today that Heseltine always wanted it but Howe plotted against him in 1990 as he disliked him intensely. Heseltine also had heart attacks in early 90's which made him a bit of a risk. December 14, 20195 yr Author Ségolène Royal. She should have been PM of Britain too. Was she Labour or Tory? :D
December 14, 20195 yr Tempted with Corbyn but that alternative universe where we're just about to enter the final year of Ed Miliband's brilliantly politically uneventful term is sounding so blissful right now. Both would have been good men at the helm of our country, both would have been PMs of which I could be proud. Ken Clarke would have been a fine Tory PM I would say, about as fine in my estimations as John Major.
