So let's kick off my singles top 80 of the 2010s!

80. Rudimental feat. Ella Eyre

Chart peak: 2

Year: 2013

So to kick us off we have Rudimantal's second official number 1 - and the superior of those in my opinion. This is quite the club banger and Ella Eyre provides her best vocal performace here. Happy memories of this in the the GAY bar in London :D This didn't quite hit the top for me, but as 2013 was a huge year for dance this didn't quite make it.

79. Mystery Jets - Telomere

Chart peak: 2

Year: 2016

The Mystery Jets had a great run of number 2 singles on my chart in 2016, all from their fab album Curve of the Earth. The first single remains a firm favourite with me - an ode to the space between cells. This is in the 'should have been number 1' camp.

78. Galantis - Runaway (U & I)

Chart peak: 1 (1 week)

Year: 2015

I had forgotten now much I loved this until I was making this chart (and that I put it at the top of my chart). Its sort of Junior Senior 'Move Your Feet' of the 2010s!

77. Everything Everything - Distant Past

Chart peak: 2

Year: 2015

Take me to the Distant Past please (and back to pre-Brexit times!). A great comeback for the fast talking Everything Everything here, with an extra noise that sounds oddly Star Trek-y. Everything Everything would have a number 1 from me later in 2015 with Regret, but this number 2 is far superior and even got the final of BJSC for PRoJ.

76. Foster The People – Pumped Up Kicks

Chart peak: 1 (3 weeks)

Year: 2010

One of only 3 tracks from 2010 to make the cut, this neat little indie tune has aged well. Quite the one hit wonder though!

75. Portugal.The Man – Feel It Still

Chart peak: 1 (1 week)

Year: 2017

This slow burner was a number 1 on my chart before it hit it big on the official chart, and also managed too get there before I actually went to Portugal!

The clear highlight for me from Jake Bugg's country inspired 'Hearts That Strain' album.

A nifty little dance number from 2013 - part of a run of great 90s influenced dance tunes to hit the top of my chart that year.

72. Friendly Fires – Blue Cassette

Chart peak: 2

Year: 2012

I was a bit late to the PALA love, and this was the third hit from me from this seminal album. Little did I know I would have to wait another 7 years for another Friendly Fires album....

69. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds – The Man Who Built The Moon

Noel Gallagher proving yet again that he was the prime creative force behind Oasis. Brilliant track and rightly used in TV trailers on regular occasion.

66. Owl City – Fireflies

Chart peak: 1 (3 weeks)

Year: 2010

The oldest track on this countdown, and one that reminds me of being snowed in at my old flat. Ah the snowy winters of the early 2010s. As to the song, loved it at the time, still love it now, although can't say I'm impressed by the singers beliefs. Also a reasonably rare occurrence of me having the same number 1 as the official chart.

65. Leona Lewis – One More Sleep

Chart peak: 1 (3 weeks)

Rightly becoming a new Christmas classic and one of two Christmas songs on this countdown (apologies to Kelly Clarkson who misses out).

64. Coldplay – Magic

Chart peak: 1 (3 weeks)

Year: 2014

As the lead single from Ghost Stories, this remains a welcome return to more chilled style Coldplay after the stadium rock heavy Mylo Xyloto. Lovely little song.
