Yeah country is probably one of the least "local friendly" genres there is here!;

I'd say disco is a far more appealing genre than country, especially when it comes to Kylie!

I mean I agree, but I love disco and actually dislike Country lol but I feel like for locals, especially the older crowd, they preferred more raw sound. But I guess we’ll just wait haha.

The top bit of the cover looks like it's got a metallic shine to it, so I can see this having the kind of cover that Kelly Clarkson - Piece By Piece has (if anyone has that album, hopefully they'll know what I mean aha - and no, it doesn't come across very well as a standard image so don't google the cover :lol:)

In regards to the battle, I can see Kylie winning it, but Little Mix maybe having slightly better longevity - due to their show? I honestly don't think it'll be much of a battle either for first week. Kylie's literally had like 20 months worth of pre-orders over just 2 for Little Mix (OK, 5/6 but it feels like 20 :arrr:)

 

I can see Kylie debuting with about 65k-ish and LM maybe 35k-40k? (Holding to about 25k-30k the week after, whereas Kylie will be 20k-25k?) I am pretty confident Kylie will have a lot of promo coming up too. Wouldn't surprise me if she had more shows than LM did that week.

Are there more releases the few weeks before or something? I’m kinda confused as to why they are battling Kylie unless in comparison to other artists she isn’t as big and they think they stand a better chance ofn#1?

I kinda agree about the battle, I think kylie will open on higher numbers but long term little mix will sell more.

Tbh now i would say Kylie could get it purely because of her pre orders and bundles etc.. But this could change as we dont know what LM are doing yet along with The Search (an episode airs the day after the album release!) but if LM dont get it on week 1 i honestly dont see why they wouldnt snatch on week 2 if nobody else releases as they will hold up well with The Search still airing..

 

I think ill be torn until i know what LM are doing in terms of bundles etc idk

I like the sound of that! I like Confetti as the album title. The album cover isn't how I imagined it to be, but I like it.

Imagine if an artist swoops in last minute with a surprise release and Kylie/Little Mix both miss the #1 spot :lol:

 

I hope the girls have a lot of promo lined up and don't just rely on The Search - though that will certainly be huge for them.

I mean it's not though is it lol. Make-up is fine? The empty space is jarring but other than that it's fine, y'all are so hard on them for no reason. :arrr:

 

Regarding pre-orders, they tend to do pretty well, although it's different with LM5 because physical sales overall were down. I remember them constantly being at the top of the pre-order chart with Get Weird, and Glory Days iirc? Although they battled Bruno and Metallica that day.

 

Pre-orders aren't really that relevant anymore though because of how big streaming is..

 

I hope that we get the tracklist soon, I'm so curious to hear about the collabs..

The vinyl only came in one (the worst cover) format, no cassettes, no limited covers. No HMV exclusives. No box sets. Nothing signed. Just deluxe CDs and one vinyl I believe? Hopefully they play the game a bit more this time round.

Yeah i’m really hoping they DELIVER with the bundles, they need to be doing the absolute most if they want that #1 secured.

 

I’m also thinking they will do some promo on BBC shows around that time as BBC will be more keen to promote them due to The Search?

It's just been announced that Graham Norton will be back starting on the 2nd October, and they've managed to get a live audience too.

 

1) that means good for The Search, since it means they can go ahead with a live audience since other BBC shows are enabling it

 

2) hopefully Little Mix can be on the show on the 6th Nov, that would be great for them and to also perform the 3rd single.

I imagine it’ll be in BBC’s best interest to do some cross promo within their shows!

 

Also, like 365 said, I really hope they announce at least a deluxe version today and some sort of bundle, vinyl or solo artworks in the near future.

 

If preorder is up tomorrow it’d be odd of them to not have a Deluxe version. That never happened before... If there is one indeed, I hope they don’t miss the mark on its artwork with a black and white one again.

Yeah, basically with everything that's counted so far, I think it really does come down to what formats and bundles Little Mix release tomorrow. If they do similar variations to the last albums (minimal), Kylie will win. If they step it up and do lots of variants, they could beat her.
