Just the brake ducts tho. Like come on. The car is a control-c, control-v of last years merc. Everyone with functioning eyes can see it.

Thrilled tho. Perfect revenge for their bullshit over our brake bias system and the racing points are just such c**ts. Like get the entire stroll family away from Motorsport pls.

Certainly is a control-c, control-v of last year's Mercedes. We'll see what happens with Stroll Daddy Day Care ft Perez Team.

Having looked at the photos I can't disagree they're ridiculously similar, BUT it looks to me like Racing Point have modeled/reverse engineered their's on the Mercedes design rather than actually using the same blueprints, The top of the duct is clearly a different shape, being curved rather than straight.

Which, if I'm correct, makes it legal as far as the rules go. I suspect the FIA will look at it and pass it.

Aside from that I can't see any reason why Mercedes as a team would provide RP with their plans. They have nothing to gain from it and could be thrown out of a championship they are certain to win. Only an individual employee might do, like with McLaren some years back but I cannot believe Mercedes would have looked in to this themselves.

And personally, with Ferrari in a mess and Red Bull still some way behind Mercedes, the McLaren, Renault, Racing Point, Ferrari duel for 3rd best team may well be the highlight of the year.

Sorry but I don't know how to adjust picture size. (Although it does help show the differences)

Renault have spoken on record about the protest. It appears that they’ve no qualms about the external looking so similar, although they heavily side eye it like they do the entire car because it’s a repainted 2019 Merc, but rather they believe that the interior geometry of the listed part is identical - something which can only be found from internal blueprints and not from publicly available info + backwards engineering - which would be illegal under the rules.

The last time Red Bull drivers shared a podium was Japan 2017: 48 races ago.

The last time the other Red Bull was on the podium was Monaco 2018: 39 races ago.

Seems like the teams were so bored during the off-season they're even more desperate to protest against each other.

Decent enough race at the weekend considering it had a hard act to follow. Norris the star of the season so far! Ferrari the laughing stock for the 4th season in a row...

So apparently Vettel is in talks for Racing Point which will be Aston Martin for next year. Whom does the boss get rid off? Poor Perez.
The forecast for Budapest this weekend is rain every day
There is one new rumour about Vettel every other day, now Im reading he'll go to Haas
but now Im reading in some other newspaper that Vettel is gonna replace Sergio Perez
That's probably the most likely outcome. Ocon was booted out of the team to make room for Stroll now Perez is gonna be booted out because he isn't Stroll. *large sigh*

it's a pity cos Perez is really driving well (unlike Vettel)

and Stroll is still a joke

George Russell says he will be staying at Williams for a third year in 2021.

The Briton, 22, said Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams had indicated to Mercedes, who manage him, that she wanted to keep him.

Next year will be the final year of Russell’s Williams deal. Team-mate Nicholas Latifi said he was also under contract for 2021.

Stroll the least talented and least deserving driver on the grid and yet the one with the highest job security.

Eat the rich.

At the end of first practice in Hungary all four Mercedes are atop the timesheets

FOM & FIA have made some truly dire decisions in the past decade or so but somehow the most damage done to the sport is the return of Mercedes Benz as a manufacturer.

Flush. Absolute flush.

You can't really blame Mercedes Benz for being better than everyone else though. They've dominated in every era they've entered, in the 30's it took a World War to stop them, in the 50's it was the deadliest crash in motorsport history and now in this era they'll probably just run out of things to prove.

There has always been eras of supremacy by one team above the rest. Alfa Romeo, Lotus, McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Williams, they've all had their turns. This one's just longer than most.

As for the question of whether they've broken rules with Racing Point, despite my earlier flippant remark, I remain unconvinced that there's any reason Mercedes would share tech illegally as they have nothing to gain from such a move and everything to lose.
