Michael McDonalds analysis of the early voting seems to paint a mixed bag (based on registrations). North Carolina isn’t looking great for Biden but he does seem to have the edge in Flo and AZ.

 

My gut is saying Trump will eek it out but my god I hope I’m bloody wrong.

i’ve got my hopes up against my better judgment so need to bring them back down again to avoid the never ending disappointment

That fact that Trump (and his media surrogates) are talking about Democrats ''stealing'' the election after election night does seem quite telling to me that the Trump campaign have little faith in their ability to win through any legitimate means.

 

The main thing worrying me is that if Biden ekes out a win in the 280-300 region that almost certainly means he won't take North Carolina or Arizona and potentially means those close Senate races don't go blue either and also likely means Democrats lose close senate races in Iowa, Georgia and possibly Maine too - so Democrats might end up with 48/49 Senate seats which means Biden would be significantly limited in terms of his ability to legislate.

 

I'm still fairly confident Biden will win around 340 EC Votes but it's more worrying than before. I think 2016 fear is setting in at this stage more than anything else and I'm just trying to focus on the accuracy of polling in 2018 to compensate.

Come on Trump. Four more years!

 

Watched one of his speeches online when he was at Butler, Pennsylvania at the weekend and it was fantastic. The crowds Trump pulls in is incredible but not surprising.

It's easy to pull in big crowds when you bus them in (and then leave them in the cold and fail to pay the bus company). It's also hideously irresponsible during a pandemic, but what else would you expect from a man who has shown nothing but contempt for most people how whole life.

If you watched the rallies, they certainly didn't SOUND like they were bussed in.

 

It's like a music concert whenever I watch a Trump rally. Trump has charisma and a sense of humour that NO Democrat can touch.

Obviously an authentic rally is going to sound differently to one that has people bussed in.

I don't believe anyone was suggesting that the crowds were fake plants, unfortunately they are real cultists, but that they are pulled from a much wider area than their density at the rally would make you believe, thereby giving a false impression of their numbers.
