What’s with this petty fascination in calling the poll results from the earlier weeks fake? I really doubt that it was the case. It’s not exact science after all. A small excerpt in theory can represent the general consensus but there’s always a margin of error.

Quite. Every time an election doesn't go exactly as the polls say, there are calls to burn the entire industry to the ground and to never trust them when the whole point is that they will show small variances because of extrapolating from 1000ish voters to millions of them.

 

And there are very likely still many Democrat votes to come in which will bring everything a lot more in line. Stop doomerposting, seriously*.

Yeh Biden was well ahead of Clinton even in the polls so they were pretty much wrong in many states. The rust belts seem to have stayed with trump while Florida was won even more by trump this time.

ehm, I understand the temptation, but there is still a high chance that Biden is the legit winner.

 

Even if he isn't, 'this too shall pass', it'll be a rougher road than before, but you can't beat yourself up for things that aren't within your control. Look for things that are in your control, find ways (organise, mutual aid groups) to help fight against the shit that will come your way in the next weeks and the next years.

Arizona

Nevada

Maine

 

Those three look likely Democrat.

 

We also have

 

North Carolina

Alaska

 

They look likely Republican at this stage.

 

The final four states are

 

Georgia

Wisconsin

Michigan

Pennsylvania

 

In all four Trump is currently leading, however most of the missing votes are from their big cities, which are late arriving mail-in ballots and therefore for both those reasons are likely to be Democrat. It may take a couple of days for them to be counted. However if the other 5 states are called the way I just called them, Biden only needs two of those 4 to win. And I'd say him doing that is more likely than not.

 

So, I'd still say Biden is looking like the favourite, pending Trump and Supreme Court interference.

That's probably a good point. I've kept saying to myself that Trump's inauguration has led society to be this toxic cesspool with principles built similarly to Hammurabi's code and that it's going to take a very long time for it to repair (if it does at all) if he does lose this one. Probably me just being a Doom-ocrat and fearing for my life if anything

Well that’s me it’s been a long night first of all with Pippa and others to start and then Chris and the usuals joining in the morning bit I’ve been up all night and need a sleep until lunch

So Trump wants all vote counting to end now and is going to the Supreme Court to ask for this. All the news channels are gobsmacked. He thinks he'll lose if they carry on counting so wants those three crucial states declared now then he'd be over 270.

 

That's what it boils down to.
