Absolutely incredible for Gavin & Stacey!! :o

To think the show started off on BBC Three! The highest rating of the decade for a scripted show and the second highest non-sports programme.

That is amazing indeed for Gavin and Stacey! :o

The Olympics were THE moment of the decade for me so glad to see them take the top two, albeit in the wrong order

Remarkable to see Gavin & Stacey in the Top 10, I don't think anyone would have predicted that!

In today's day of ratings those gavin and stacey figures are phenomenal and delighted eastenders is the highest of the soaps.

Emmerdale topped the night with 5m, followed by Corrie with 4.87m. No rating for Bancoft, but Dracula beat it.

The following day, Dracula rated 2.6m against Bancoft with 2.6. Emmerdale was the most watched programme again with 5.6m whilst EastEnders was watched by 5.1m.

On Friday, Dracula concluded with 2.7m and Bancroft concluded with 3m.

On Sunday, Dancing On Ice returned with 5.14m and The Masked Singer dropped to 4.3m. Call the Midwife topped the night with 7m, with Doctor Who rating 4.6m before it and The Trial of Christine Keeler rating 4.4m after.

The Masked Singer has done well...will be interesting to see whether that could become a returnable replacement for The X factor in Autumn next year (assuming ITV finally put it out its misery this year)!

Seems to have gone down well, a family-friendly, fun, light entertainment show. I just wonder how long until the gimmick wears off though.

We need something sustainable to replace The X Factor though. The ratings for the Celebrity and The Band editions were piss weak - even sticking on film, drama or game show repeats would probably bring in better ratings!

Remarkable to see Gavin & Stacey in the Top 10, I don't think anyone would have predicted that!

Was the EE episode the live one where Stacey was revealed as Archies killer and the coronation street episode the live one or part of tram crash week?

That just goes to show that they need a massive overhaul of the Xmas Day programming!
Was the EE episode the live one where Stacey was revealed as Archies killer and the coronation street episode the live one or part of tram crash week?

It's definitely the EE Live 20th anniversary episode - I would assume the Coronation Street episode would be their live one as well?

The Corrie rating is for the second episode that aired on Monday 6th December which showed the actual tram crash itself. The Thursday episode (9th December - the 50th anniversary) also got 14.7m (14.72m to be exact, whilst Monday's was 14.75m) which was the live episode. The full week averaged over 13.5m across 7 episodes.

Another very good figure for The Masked Singer last night! We may have finally got a new LE hit on UK TV at last. The Voice is struggling this year and it doesn't help that it's coming directly after another singing show.

Last nights ratings according to posts on DS:-

Love Island - 2.5m - down 800k on last years launch and the lowest since 2017

Doctor Who - 4.19m

I had a feeling Love Island might’ve dropped but I imagine ratings will improve as the week goes on like week days give better ratings don’t they? Plus I imagine across plus one and catch up it was around 4m. Still amazing ratings for ITV2 though.
  • 4 weeks later...
The Masked Singer finale averaged 6.4m viewers on Saturday night with a peak of 8.4m! I believe it's the highest peak for a new entertainment series since The Voice UK in 2012!
