EastEnders rated 5.35m last night, obviously dropping a fair bit without the PM's address boosting it, but still the second highest overnight of the year.

Our Girl returned with 3.9m, in line with previous series.

Our Girl Series Openers

Series 1 (2014): 3.91m (16.9%)

Series 2 (2016): 3.77m (22.9%)

Series 3 (2017): 4.03m (21.0%) Part 1

Series 3 (2018): 3.28m (17.8%) Part 2

Series 4 (2020): 3.90m (21.1%)

The Queen is expected to speak to the nation in a televised broadcast in the coming weeks - could be in for another huge rating as it's only the fourth special address in her reign (1991: Gulf War, 1997: Diana's death, 2002: Queen mother's death). If she could speak just after EastEnders, that would be great! :P

Amazing consolidated figure for SNT! But of course only occupying the top spot for a week as Boris' national address will overtake that when next week's figures come out

Strictly speaking it'll be the 25 minute "reaction" broadcast that we will receive ratings for as I don't believe BARB give ratings for programmes under 5 minutes (or 10 minutes, either way the PM's address won't be recognised). That broadcast should still be the most watched of the year though as it managed to hold on to most of the 15m that watched the PM.

Unless BARB combined the two programmes of course, but the BBC schedule does list them as separate.

The Queen is expected to speak to the nation in a televised broadcast in the coming weeks - could be in for another huge rating as it's only the fourth special address in her reign (1991: Gulf War, 1997: Diana's death, 2002: Queen mother's death). So this will air on Sunday at 8pm in between Countryfile and Antiques Roadshow. I imagine both programmes are experiencing boosts at the moment anyway, so the Queen's broadcast could really catapult them.

With so many more people being at home now I wonder what sort of figures the 5pm new conference is getting as it's on BBC1.

24 million TV viewers watched the Queen's address last night:

BBC One - 14.06m

ITV - 5.33m

Channel Four - 2.50m

Channel Five - 0.62m

BBC News Channel - 0.70m

Sky News - 0.76m

Antiques Roadshow had an average of nearly 8m.

Consolidated ratings from Monday 23 March...

EastEnders - 7.31m

PM's announcement - 14.61m

BBC News Special - 13.68m

Masterchef - 7.91m

Crazy night for BBC One!! Masterchef in particular nearly at 8m :o

Glad we got a figure for the PM's address - I see on BARB that it ran for 6 minutes so that's a minute over the minimum time a programme needs to be to receive a rating. A further 5.8m watched on ITV and 2.46m watched on BBC News (no data for Channel 4 and Sky News, guessing their broadcasts were under 5 minutes). Still, that brings the official figure to 22.87m.

EastEnders received 7.03m just on TV which is the highest rating since 19th January 2018 (they didn't have 4-screen data back then).

I believe that's the highest ever rating for a regular episode of MasterChef! :o

Channel 4 had some good ratings this week: 5.7m for Bake Off SU2C on Tuesday, 5.43m for Gogglebox and 4.63m for Friday Night Dinner on Friday.

It’s great to see that all Hollyoaks episodes seemed to be getting over 850,000 / almost one million on E4 last week with normal episodes approaching 1m
