Where is Didos nomination for best female? Didn't she have the 2nd highest selling new album by a British female last year?

I’m guessing she’s been filed unfairly under ‘boring’ and ‘irrelevant’.

Has anyone read Lilly Allen's story about the Brits in her book?

It's very revealing. She explains how her label bought her the Award when she won. And they told her like that even before the ceremony. And she explains she felt sad cos she wanna win on merit not cos of a check. She further explain the Brits also told her the theme for her live performance, song to perform etc and she couldn't change or decide anything.

She’s both of those!

Well at least that’s the expected immature response out of the way.

She is no more boring than anyone who did get nominated and her album got really good reviews and hung around a lot longer than expected or than her previous couple of albums. She has had a successful tour and really taken to social media in the past year. She’s no more irrelevant than most of the nominees given she outsold them.

There’s just been a stigma about her for the last decade and she’s literally not given a chance these days. I’ve not minded too much the last few times she was ignored but this time she really does deserve some recognition.

I hate the thought of stories like that being true but I can believe it as well.

However there’s been instances where I thought certain people might’ve wanted to buy awards. Like Ed Sheeran for instance or Simon Cowell wanting to buy some for Leona at the 2008 BRITs.

But the performance part I can definitely see.

Unfairly so!

She’s better and more talented than so many of those nominations yet gets labelled as boring because she isn’t a manufactured pop puppet who sings generic like trash.

Wouldn't surprise me! I know it's subjective who "deserves" the awards but it just seems to get worse and worse each year, you can pretty much predict who's going to get them. I wish they'd go a bit more leftfield sometimes and reward critical acclaim, especially in the album of the year which shouldn't just be "this was pretty successful" as it usually is. That's not to say that critics matter more but I'm tired of it being so predictable.
