January 24, 20206 yr Where's that dude who said he was storming off the site in a huff because it's "obvious" the OCC rig the charts against older artists?
January 24, 20206 yr Where's that dude who said he was storming off the site in a huff because it's "obvious" the OCC rig the charts against older artists?  Let's not forget though, the OCC must have fixed Eminem to be number one because it's more of a newsworthy story!!!!1
January 24, 20206 yr Glad to see Blinding Lights make it to the Top 5 So glad Eminem got another #1! That's four decades he's had a #1 hit. :o I don't mean to correct you, but neither My Name Is or Guilty Conscience reached number one. The first UK #1 of his was in 2000.
January 24, 20206 yr Pretty impressive eminem can just through put an album out of nowhere and top both charts from it, realistically not many others could , let alone one that's been relevant over 20 years
January 24, 20206 yr Lewis Capaldi is already on 1000 sales for next week from his physicals, and the video has just released - could have a decent shot at the #1!
January 24, 20206 yr Really glad Eminem got the double this week! Album sales were much lower than Kamikaze though - 36k v 55k.
January 26, 20206 yr Belated thoughts... I really like both 'Godzilla' and 'The Box' so didn't really mind too much which of the two got the #1, I prefer 'The Box' so will be a shame if it now peaks at #2 as I expect it probably will especially as it'd have been a first #1 for him while Eminem has more than enough already but of course 'Godzilla' gives a first #1 for Juice WRLD which is also great to see even if it's under sad circumstances. Kudos to Eminem for managing such strong career longevity even if I think most likely 'Godzilla' has only done so well because of the feature, similar to 'River' (Em himself has gone from getting 3 top 10 debuts from 'Kamikaze' to just the one this time so clearly seems to be declining in relevance). Also exciting that it really did turn out to be such a close race, I feel like usually when I think it looks like it'll be within a thousand units or so someone ends up pulling several thousand ahead, but not even a gap of 100 this time! Beyond that, happy to see 'Blinding Lights' hanging on as high as #4 all week and cool to see DigDat now with a top 10 hit to his name even if it's not his best song (incidentally was just listening to that just now and noticed its lyrics mention Kobe Bryant, another coincidence around the timing of its release and a rather morbid one this time D:). 'Those Kinda Nights' is still decent enough and 'Darkness' has actually grown on me quite a lot now (there is a second song worth keeping from the Eminem album after all, 'I Will' and 'Yah Yah' are pretty good too). The Jonas Brothers song I didn't care for on first listen but it has grown a bit and I now think it's ok, comfortably better than 'Cool' at least. And cool that The 1975 can still get top 40 hits although it should have been 'Frail State Of Mind' over this one which is just alright. Disappointed that Mac Miller didn't manage to climb into the top 40 (in fact only going up 4 places to #45). </3
January 27, 20206 yr Really glad Eminem got the double this week! Album sales were much lower than Kamikaze though - 36k v 55k. The cd isn't out til this Friday, if that was added he probably would be on over 40k at least.
