but Dua's video for Physical had very little impact, according to kworb it debuted at #20 and then disappeared, which is kinda poor... by comparison those KSI people went all the way to #1...

 

KSI is one person :P (and he is a YouTuber so yeah of course he's doing well on YouTube).

 

'Physical' debuted at #14 on the video streaming chart, I don't think Kworb's daily YT numbers are particularly reliable.

 

Incidentally 'Godzilla' has also finally debuted on the video streaming chart now (at #26) after Eminem's official channel finally uploaded an official audio version of it besides the auto-generated version which clearly hasn't been counting to the video streaming chart.

Pussycat Dolls still climbing on Apple, at #56 now

 

but really surprised how this song is nearly top 20 on Apple but not top 200 on Spotify:

React up again to 85. It’s doing so well considering the lack of playlist support.

Anyway, that's quite often the case for big hits and their follow ups. 'Physical' will come into its own soon enough.

Difference is that "Yummy" has only just come out whereas DSN has been out for a while. Physical does need to become a hit

You have to let go :D everybody in the world including Justin, his label, his manager have moved on :D

I'm so impressed and surprised with React's streaming success. I actually had doubts it would ever make Spotify top 200 never mind 3 days top 100

Now revising my hopes for 'React' to have 'Hello My Love' type success but probably on a lesser scale.

Yay for 'SUGAR' finally returning to the top 50 after lingering in the 50s for the last 2 weeks (including quite a few days at #51). Only 1 place behind its peak again so hope it'll resume upwards progress now ~

 

Genuinely expected 'React' to spend like one day at #110 and then disappear, it getting 3 days in the top 100 and actually climbing today is really impressive, it could be a real hit if it got more support it seems. I don't really care much for the song (not a patch on most of their previous singles) but gwan getting that continued relevance I guess!

Also just realised 'Blinding Lights' is now only 20k off #1, may get there some time in the next week or so.

I actually thought PSD were not even gonna be top 200 on day 1 as it was like track #16 on NMF and was not added to HH

I agree with this, for the sake of the chart Spotify and other playlists should have a 3 month max period they can remain high on these lists so that they don't hang around so long. The three month period is the traditional period for a single promo/release.

I think for a pop artist of Dua Lipa's stature, 3 months between single releases, if we bear in mind Christmas basically voided the promo time for one of those months, was not very long (albeit that's easy to say with the benefit of hindsight).

 

Spotify are going to push songs they think will get plays, they don't have any obligation to favour newer songs straight away if they think their subscribing public haven't yet.
