I didn’t expect that duff duff tonight! Uh oh. Is Ian at least in tomorrow’s episode or so and this leads to his temp exit or is that it for the foreseeable?

I quite liked tonight’s episode and that we seen quite a lot of the cast in one episode as an ensemble.

Now we know Chantelle’s exit it’s really hard watching her scenes. Had we not not been aware it was happening so soon tonight’s episode would’ve given us such a glimmer of hope that she was about to get the life she deserved :(

The acting felt a bit stilted at points in that episode but I thought some of the scenes were cleverly done to work around social distancing guidelines. A good duff duff to start as well!

That bath scene in tonight’s episode was a tough watch.

But wow Jessica Plummer was fantastic tonight. You really are rooting so much for Chantelle. Well done to Toby who plays Gray as well as it’s definitely a very difficult role to play a character like that but he’s also doing a brilliant job at portraying an abuser. The show done very well in casting Gray actually because on the surface he’s the opposite of what you picture someone who’s capable of what he’s doing to look like.

Why do they have to reveal so many details? lord :drama:

Usually I'd be strongly against it but in this case it's necessary I think - it's going to be a tough watch and likely very triggering for some viewers, it's a good idea to let them know what's happening beforehand!

Enjoying the new episodes so far, agree that the bath scenes tonight were so uncomfortable. Hats off to both actors for portraying it so sensitively and so brilliantly.

The storyline spoiler that’s gone out was definitely needed.

One of the rare times that I’m all for knowing what’s due to happen before hand.

I'm sure viewing figures will pick up next week, to be honest I haven't been watching the classic Eastenders episodes, and I didn't realise EE was back on this week, until someone told me its back on. Just a case of people playing catch up

The scenes in the bath was a bit horrifying to watch though.

Eep that’s not good, they were averaging 5m when broadcasts stopped in June

They weren't, they were barely managing that in the officials! Mid-3m was about what I was expecting. People weren't going to come running back after a 3 month break - if anything, people will have broken the habit of tuning in.

Anyway, I've enjoyed the last couple of episodes! The camera angles are actually really interesting and sometimes help to enhance scenes. I like that storylines are moving at a quicker pace than they were before, hopefully that can help to retain the audience that did tune in.

The Chantelle/Gray storyline is finally having some impact now. Knowing what is to come is made the scenes tonight even more suspenseful - this sense of urgency is one thing that has been missing from this storyline.

Not sure where the Sharon/Ian/Dotty story can go from here though. Sharon already knows the facts, she just seemingly hasn't made the links yet for whatever reason, but what power comes from Sharon just realising that Dotty wasn't lying? Really cba with them dragging this out until Christmas.

Ian providing some light relief tonight

Sharon’s face too when he said I know you feel the same.

I’m liking seeing Vinny too when he’s away from his brothers. Although I like them as a family unit too I have to say I like Vinny more when he’s working for Ruby etc.

Screaming at Sharon and Ian.

“Everyone knows if you give him half a smile he’s ordering wedding cake”

“And you kissed me goodnight.....” (Sharon replying) on the cheek”
